Ho Tran Anh Thu, a student majoring in Mechanical Engineering - Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) is one of 11 excellent graduates awarded the All-round Cup by the school in the graduation ceremony in November 2025.
This is a reward for those who not only have excellent academic achievements, but are also good at their profession, proactive in social activities, have community spirit and especially do not retake any classes during the training process.
Mr. Thu shared that when he entered college, he did not have a clear understanding of Logistics and the current supply chain. The only thing certain at that time was that he was suitable for the technical environment but wanted to find a direction with a combination of system design, analytical thinking and management factors.
Both of her parents work in the education sector. Since childhood, I have grown up in an environment associated with books and knowledge, where my parents both respect my freedom and guide me according to the right values. I still remember what my father said on the day before choosing a career: "If you choose according to your parents' wishes, it will be very easy. But choosing the right path for your child is important. Parents believe in their children's choices."
This is the time for Thu to realize that she is an adult, she must take responsibility for her own choices.
In her studies, Thu maintained her understanding of the problem, then applied it and then got the score.
"When I truly understand, achieving high results is just the next step, not the main pressure," Thu said.
The biggest challenge for Thu came at the end of her third year, when she had to complete four tasks at the same time: the final round of the Interchain competition, a draft of a scientific paper, a major exercise in specialized subjects and a final exam.
"Sometimes I think I have to give up a goal," Thu recalled. But thanks to planning in detail and especially receiving support from instructors, classmates and project groups, I have completely overcome the most stressful period of my student life.
"I can do it not because I am better than anyone, but because I am supported by very kind people," Thu confided.
Regarding her upcoming orientation, Thu said she is in the stage of "developing herself" after four years of studying. I want to experience many different areas in the supply chain to understand the operations of each industry and clearly identify the skills I need to supplement.
"I didn't set a framework plan. I want to work, observe, and nurture my capacity according to the real needs of my work. My goal is to become a professional with depth and create a real impact," Thu said.
Mr. Thu also said that when she has enough practical experience, she wants to return to the classroom to study at a higher level, as a step to perfect after the experience and maturity stage.
