Regarding the incident of a teacher beating a first grader, causing bruises on his back and scratches on his ear at Ba Dinh Primary School (Bim Son town, Thanh Hoa province), sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Huy (the child's father) said that when he watched the security camera footage in the classroom, he was shocked by the continuous beating of the student by teacher Tam.
“In about 10 minutes, Ms. Tam hit the heads, backs and pulled the ears of 4 students, of which my child was hit the most. When seeing the teacher hit, many other students in the class also showed signs of fear,” said Mr. Huy.
According to Mr. Huy, after watching the video, he was extremely upset, but only asked the school to take a short clip showing Ms. Tam's actions in beating the student. There were other clips showing the teacher hitting the student harder, but he did not take them because he was afraid of affecting the student's psychology later.
"Seeing my child being beaten by the teacher made me scared. To ensure my child's physical and mental safety, I later requested to change classes and the school accepted," Huy shared.
Previously, the family of T.P.N. (6 years old, student in grade 1B, Ba Dinh Primary School) discovered that their daughter had bruises on her back and unusual scratches on her ear, so they asked around and later found out that N. had been beaten and had her ear pulled many times by teacher Vo Thi Tam.
Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Vo Dao Hoa - Principal of Ba Dinh Primary School said that after the incident, the school stopped Ms. Tam from teaching and transferred her to clerical work that had nothing to do with students.
"Currently, the school is waiting for the conclusion of the police agency, to see the level of violation to decide the next handling measures" - Ms. Hoa shared.
