As Lao Dong reported, after collecting opinions and receiving high consensus and agreement from the people, the Project to reorganize Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to establish Bac Ninh province was submitted to the Government on April 28, before the prescribed time.
According to the Project, the two provinces of Bac Ninh - Bac Giang will merge and have a new name, Bac Ninh province, the administrative center will be located in the current Bac Giang city. The new Bac Ninh province will have a total of 99 communes and wards; population of 3,619,433 people.
The project also clearly states the plan to organize universities and colleges (under the central agency) located in the province.
Accordingly, on the basis of the plan, Bac Ninh province will continue to develop University Zones 1 and 2 to form a National and International Center for training, scientific research and technology application, with a total area of 1,115 hectares.
Of which, University Area 1 has been basically fully registered, reaching 84.56% of the training land fund. The occupancy rate at University Area 2 is 36.98%. With many major universities such as: Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Academy of Policy and Development, Banking Academy, Information Technology Complex and Bac Ha International University; University of Agriculture and Forestry (Bac Giang), Industrial College (Bac Giang)...
According to the investigation of Lao Dong reporter, in the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, Bac Ninh province will form university urban areas to attract higher education institutions from Hanoi capital to move or build branches in the province.
Currently, the Hanoi Law University campus 2 project is under construction with an area of nearly 28 hectares in Tu Son City (Bac Ninh province), with a total investment of more than 1,700 billion VND.
The project to build a facility in Bac Ninh of the following schools: University of Medicine, University of Pharmacy, Foreign Trade University, University of Natural Resources and Environment is also in the process of implementation.
