Reflecting to the Hanoi People's Committee, parent N.K.T said that the family has a child preparing to enter 6th grade in the 2026 - 2027 school year and wishes to send their child to a high-quality class at Chu Van An Secondary School, Thanh Tri.
According to parents, in previous years, the school considered admission to high-quality classes based on transcripts, academic achievements and awards of students such as VioEdu, English Olympics, life skills, aptitude... Therefore, throughout 5 years of elementary school, students have strived to achieve the title of excellent student and participated in many learning playgrounds.
However, this year, parents are informed that high-quality classes can enroll through city-wide entrance exams. As of May 29, 2026, the school has not yet had an official announcement about the enrollment plan, causing parents and students to worry and feel pressured.
Parents believe that if switching to the entrance exam form, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training needs to have a plan to announce from the beginning of the school year so that students have time to prepare.
Because high-quality entrance exam questions often have many advanced knowledge, different from the classroom curriculum. The fact that there is only about a month left for review will create great pressure for students and parents.
Only evaluating with one test also makes many parents concerned about fairness for students who have strived throughout 5 years of elementary school, achieved good academic results and participated in many exams and other educational activities.
From the above reality, parents request the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to soon announce the enrollment plan so that parents and students can proactively prepare; if applying entrance exams, there needs to be a roadmap announced from the beginning of the school year for the following years; and at the same time consider combining assessment of transcripts, learning process and student achievements besides the entrance exam.
Regarding this issue, the Hanoi City Center for Communication, Data and Digital Technology said that on April 9, 2026, Thanh Tri Commune People's Committee issued Plan No. 166/KH-UBND on enrollment into kindergartens, grades 1 and 6 for the 2026-2027 school year in Thanh Tri commune.
Accordingly, for enrollment in grade 6 of 2 secondary schools, Chu Van An and Yen My, along with the Project to build Van Dien Town Secondary School (facility 2) expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. The total reception capacity of these facilities is about more than 600 students, while the number of students residing in the area is 1,029, not meeting the actual needs.
On the other hand, according to Plan No. 45/KH-UBND dated January 29, 2026 of the Hanoi City People's Committee on implementing Action Program No. 05-CTr/TU dated January 12, 2026 of the Hanoi City Party Committee to implement Resolution 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, Chu Van An Secondary School and Ngo Si Kien Primary School are on the roadmap to build a high-quality school model of the city.
High-quality schools will apply tuition fees according to city regulations for the high-quality school model. Parents need to carefully consider students' academic conditions and family financial capacity before registering, in order to avoid having to transfer schools later, affecting students' learning process.
Currently, Thanh Tri Commune People's Committee is implementing the Project to Invest in the construction of Van Dien Town Secondary School (facility 2), expected to be put into operation in the 2026-2027 school year.
In the immediate future, when the above project is not completed, Thanh Tri Commune People's Committee assigns Chu Van An Secondary School to enroll 16 6th grade students with 560 quotas (including 280 enrollment quotas for new secondary schools when the Project is completed).
Depending on the time the project is completed or Chu Van An Secondary School is recognized by the City People's Committee as a high-quality school, the determination of the number of students in the classes of Chu Van An Secondary School will be carried out in the form of: reviewing dossiers, capacity assessment, taking tests, interviews... (when implemented, there will be specific regulations).
Therefore, to ensure the learning needs of children in the area, the Commune People's Committee has contacted neighboring communes and wards and oriented students residing in Cuong Ngo, Dong Tri, Co Dien A, Co Dien B villages, Cho village, Van Dien village to register for Chu Van An Secondary School or Tu Hiep Secondary School of Yen So ward;
Students residing in Tu Khoat, Luu Phai, Pho Luu Phai villages should register for Ngu Hiep Secondary School of Nam Phu commune; students residing in village 4 Van Phuc should register for Ngoc Hoi Secondary School of Ngoc Hoi commune;
Students residing in hamlets 1, 2, 3, 4 Vinh Quynh should register for Ngoc Hoi Secondary School of Ngoc Hoi commune or Vinh Quynh Secondary School of Dai Thanh commune to avoid having to regulate when Chu Van An Secondary School and Yen My Secondary School exceed the assigned targets.
Enrollment time for grade 6: from July 7, 2026 to the end of July 9, 2026. Direct enrollment from July 12, 2026 to the end of July 18, 2026. Supplementing quotas (if any) from July 21 to the end of July 22, 2026.
Parents are requested to base on the time milestones and stream separation plans mentioned above to proactively prepare complete dossiers and carry out enrollment registration for students in accordance with regulations.
