The Department of Education and Training of Soc Trang province has just issued a notice related to preparations for the 2025 - 2026 school year. This takes place in the context that the province will merge into Can Tho City according to the policy of arranging provincial-level administrative units of the Politburo, the merger will be implemented in August 2025.
Implementing the direction of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training has sent a document guiding the units to create favorable conditions for students, especially children of cadres and civil servants working at departments and branches in the province who need to transfer to a new workplace in Can Tho City.
These cases need to send registration information to transfer schools according to the prescribed form before May 26, 2025. After this time, the Department will compile a list and consider those who do not send information as not having a need.
For students taking the high school entrance exam (grade 10) for the 2025-2026 school year, they will still take the exam in the province according to the general plan. However, these subjects still registered, and only after having the admission results did they transfer schools.
