The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a Decision on the establishment of Thai Nguyen University Branch in Dien Bien province on the basis of Dien Bien Pedagogical College and Dien Bien Medical College.
According to this Decision, Thai Nguyen University is responsible for reporting to the Ministry of Education and Training, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province and relevant ministries and branches to organize the handover and reception of civil servants, employees, learners, finance, assets, facilities, equipment and related documents.
Thai Nguyen University Branch in Dien Bien Province is a training institution under Thai Nguyen University, with the function of training at university, postgraduate and college levels in specific majors; scientific research, technology transfer; international cooperation, participation in research, consulting, and criticism of sustainable socio-economic development policies for the province and the region.
In the 2026-2030 period, Thai Nguyen University Branch in Dien Bien province plans to train 8-9 undergraduate majors; maintain training in 2 specialized majors at college level (preschool education, Nursing).
Continue to enroll and train in 3 intermediate-level majors (anursing, General Medicine, Pharmacy) and stop enrolling in this training level according to the roadmap prescribed by the Government and the Ministry of Health.
In addition, enrollment and training for master's degrees (from universities member of Thai Nguyen University) are organized according to the needs of Dien Bien province and the Northwest region.
