According to the draft, the subjects of the 10th grade exam are high school graduates in the 2024-2025 school year in Ho Chi Minh City at the prescribed age with the results of the assessment of training and assessment of the entire school year of grades 6, 7, 8 and above, especially grade 9 is good.
Both Le Hong Phong and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted are allowed to receive candidates who have passed the junior high school exam from other provinces and cities, provided that these candidates fully meet the requirements according to the current regulations of the exam. In previous years, only Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted recruited 10th grade nationwide.
Students who register for the specialized exam have 2 prospects for priority admission to the specialized class. Arrange in order of priority from high to low (expectation 1, 2), if admitted to any profession, you must study at that profession, without changing the profession.
For the specialized exam, candidates will take 4 self-processing exams including 3 non-professional exams including Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 specialized exam in the correct subject registered for the exam (150 minutes of test time).
The total admission score for the specialized class is: Literature + Foreign Language + Math + (specialty x 2).
If they are not admitted to specialized schools, students can still participate in the 10th grade entrance exam according to the 3 conditions that are usually registered for the entrance exam.
In addition, according to the roadmap, from the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will stop organizing specialized classes in 4 high schools, including: Gia Dinh (Binh Thanh District), Mac Dinh Chi (District 6), Nguyen Thuong Hien (Tan Binh District), Nguyen Huu Huan (Thu Duc City).
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will have about 90,000 candidates graduating from junior high school. This year's 10th grade exam will take place on June 6-7, 2025.
