Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) is implementing a program to reduce passenger train ticket prices by 10% for candidates participating in the high school graduation exam and enrollment exams in 2026, and at the same time support new students enrolling with accompanying relatives.
According to VNR's announcement, the program is applied to all passenger trains from now until the end of October 2026.
For candidates participating in the high school graduation exam and the 2026 entrance exams, each exam notification or exam card is applied with a 10% discount on ticket prices for candidates and a family member accompanying them. The preferential policy applies to one trip and one return trip from the place of residence to the exam location.
For new students enrolling in universities, academies, colleges, vocational secondary schools and vocational education institutions, VNR offers a 10% discount on ticket prices for students and a family member accompanying them when buying tickets according to the admission notice.
To enjoy the preferential policy, passengers must buy tickets directly at stations or ticket sales points of the railway industry. When buying tickets, candidates or students need to present exam notification papers, exam cards or admission notices along with valid personal papers.
Accompanying relatives must buy tickets at the same time, on the same train and on the same itinerary as exam candidates or enrolled students.
Representatives of VNR said that the program aims to share difficulties in travel costs, accompany students and families during the exam season, contributing to creating favorable conditions for students to feel secure in participating in exams and enrolling in 2026.
