According to information from the Department of Education and Training of Tien Giang province, through a preliminary review, the entire Tien Giang education sector is currently lacking about 900 teachers, mainly in preschool, primary school and social subjects, new subjects according to the 2018 General Education Program.
Regarding the above issue, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tan - Head of Organization and Administration Department (Department of Education and Training of Tien Giang province) shared: In the immediate future, schools that lack teachers for any subject will organize guest lecturers to teach. In addition, sign contracts to hire retired teachers to teach at schools.
In the long term, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tan said that more than 1,400 students with registered residence in Tien Giang province are currently studying pedagogical majors at schools including: Tien Giang University, Can Tho University, Dong Thap University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Central University of Education, etc. This is a source of human resources for recruitment, therefore, the Department of Education and Training of Tien Giang province has issued an official dispatch requesting the People's Committees at the district level in the area, based on the information provided by the unit, to review and proactively inform the needs of teachers at all levels and subjects of the locality to students of teacher training institutions. In addition, create favorable conditions for newly recruited teachers. At the same time, organize regular teacher recruitment, organize many times/year according to the graduation schedule of educational institutions.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tan added that currently, the People's Committees of Cai Be, Cho Gao, Go Cong Tay, and Tan Phuoc districts are recruiting teachers in 2024. The Department of Education and Training of Tien Giang province is also recruiting teachers and staff in job positions including: Librarian, accountant, clerk, etc.
Faced with the current shortage of teachers, the District People's Committees in Tien Giang province and the Department of Education and Training are recruiting teachers in 2024. In Go Cong Tay district, there is a need to recruit a total of 52 preschool teachers to work at preschools including: Thanh Nhut, Binh Nhi, Mang Non, Vinh Binh, Anh Duong, Dong Thanh, Dong Son, Binh Phu, Thanh Cong, Thanh Tri, Yen Luong, Binh Tan, Long Binh, Long Vinh, Vinh Huu.
Schools managed by the Department of Education and Training of Tien Giang province are in need of recruiting 211 teachers. Of which, 179 are high school teachers, and 32 are middle school teachers. Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School is in need of recruiting 19 teachers for the subjects of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, etc. Phu Thanh Secondary and High School is in need of recruiting 11 middle school teachers for the subjects of Literature, History, Geography, English, Math, etc. Tan Thoi Secondary and High School is in need of recruiting 11 teachers. Of which, high school needs to recruit 4 teachers for the subjects of Physics, Literature, Music; middle school needs to recruit 7 teachers for the subjects of Math, Literature, and Fine Arts.
