According to a report from Nguyen Van Tiet Secondary School (Lai Thieu Ward, Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province), the incident occurred around April 2024. The student who was beaten in the clip is named V.N.K.V (grade 7, school year 2023-2024). Currently, student V.N.K.V has applied to transfer to Dong Nai since May 2024. In the transfer application, the parents stated the reason as moving residence.
The group of teenagers who participated in beating the female student were not students of Nguyen Van Tiet Secondary School. However, among the group of teenagers who stood by and witnessed the incident was a student named P.N.Y.N, currently in 7th grade at the school.
According to Nguyen Van Tiet Secondary School, at the time the student was beaten, the school did not receive any information about the incident. Currently, the school is investigating the cause and coordinating with the police of Binh Nham and Lai Thieu wards to further understand the situation of the incident.
The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Thuan An city said that he has directed the school to review the students involved and coordinate with verification units to clarify the incident. Thereby, there are measures to deter and educate the students.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Thuan An City, Nguyen Van Tiet Secondary School needs to have good measures to prevent school violence. If the incident had happened earlier, there would have been better measures to handle it and better coordination with the police.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on the evening of November 28, a 4-minute clip was circulating online showing a girl being brutally beaten by a group of people.
In the video, the girl was surrounded by a group of people who took turns beating her by pulling her hair, slapping her in the face, and kicking her in the stomach and face.
Ms. T.T.P (residing in Xuan Loc, Dong Nai, the mother of the child beaten in the clip) said that the incident happened around April 30, 2024, but she only discovered it a month ago. When the incident was discovered, V had transferred from Binh Duong to Dong Nai to study.
"Recently, when I learned about the incident, I asked my daughter who had just said that she was beaten in Binh Duong. Because she was afraid that the subjects would beat her again, she hid it from her mother and asked to go back to Dong Nai to study," said Ms. T.T.P.
