Will there be an increase in teachers' salaries in 2025?
Article 3 of Resolution 159/2024/QH15 stipulates the content of salary policy implementation and some social policies as follows:
Not increased public sector salaries, pensions, social insurance benefits, monthly allowances, preferential allowances for meritorious people in 2025.
According to the above content, in 2025, there is still no decision to increase teachers' salaries.
In addition, according to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 4 of Resolution 159/2024/QH15, it is stipulated as follows:
Direct relevant ministries and agencies to study and propose handling of unreasonable issues arising in the regime for a number of subjects and occupations (civil servants in education, health, etc.); propose continuing to adjust and increase public sector salaries, pensions, social insurance benefits, monthly allowances, and preferential allowances for meritorious people in case the socio-economic situation in 2025 is more favorable and resources are balanced, and report to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
Thus, the National Assembly has decided not to increase public sector salaries in 2025, so teachers who are civil servants will not receive a salary increase during this time. However, the National Assembly assigned the Government to propose continuing to adjust and increase public sector salaries (including teachers who are civil servants) in case the socio-economic situation in 2025 is more favorable and resources are balanced, and report to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
What is the highest salary for teachers in 2025?
As mentioned above, teachers' salaries will not increase in 2025. This means that the 2025 teacher salary table will continue to be calculated according to the basic salary x salary coefficient as prescribed in and Decree 73/2024/ND-CP.
Accordingly, Article 3 on the basic salary of Decree 73/2024/ND-CP stipulates that from July 1, 2024, the basic salary is VND 2,340,000/month.
At the same time, Circular 07/2024/TT-BNV has set out the formula for calculating teachers' salaries: Salary = Basic salary of 2.34 million VND/month x Current salary coefficient
Thus, from 2025, the official salary table for teachers includes the following:
Accordingly, the highest teacher salary in 2025 will belong to the group of junior high and high school teachers grade I with salary level 8, salary coefficient of 6.78. The highest salary will be 15.865 million VND/month.
