University warns of fake lecturers' tricks to cheat on tuition fees

On December 22, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry posted a warning to students about the scam of impersonating lecturers to collect tuition fees in order to get a reduction in fees.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry said it has just received reports that some people impersonate university lecturers and ask students to transfer money into their personal accounts to pay tuition fees to help students get a reduction in tuition fees.

Therefore, the school recommends that parents and students be vigilant in following the school's principles and guidelines. Absolutely do not transfer tuition fees to any personal bank account. Collection notices are only valid when posted on the school's official website and fanpage.

Students are advised to immediately report any unusual situations to their homeroom lecturers or the Student Affairs and Support Department. Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also recommends that students follow the school's official information channels; research and verify information as accurately and completely as possible to avoid being taken advantage of by bad guys.

Recently, the University of Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University also informed students to be vigilant against fake and fraudulent information after fake information appeared about an invitation to an international student exchange meeting claiming to be from this school.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology affirms that it will not issue any notice or organize any international exchange meetings at the school at the time mentioned in the invitation.

At the same time, the school also pointed out many grammatical and spelling errors, inaccurate information, inconsistencies and lack of transparency, incorrect presentation of the form... in the invitation letter. Therefore, the school recommends that when students notice any abnormalities, they should check and confirm information from reliable sources through the school's official information channels or directly report to the police.
