Dak Lak – A school in Buon Ma Thuot city has a strong strange smell, causing two teachers to vomit and faint.

On the afternoon of October 8, Mr. Pham Van Thai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Loi Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak) said that the origin of the strange smell that caused two teachers at Nguyen Duc Canh Primary School to be hospitalized has not yet been determined.

Currently, Tan Loi Ward People's Committee is coordinating with Buon Ma Thuot City Department of Natural Resources and Environment to conduct a large-scale inspection and screening. The health of the two teachers who were hospitalized after smelling a strange smell (like the smell of pesticides) has stabilized.

Earlier, at around 7am the same day, a strong strange smell appeared at Nguyen Duc Canh Primary School. This stench caused a female clerk to vomit, a female librarian to faint, and she was taken to Buon Ma Thuot City General Hospital for emergency treatment.

To ensure the safety of the students, the school board brought them into the classroom, closed the doors and turned on the fans.

Some students felt tired afterwards, however, it did not affect their health. The school immediately reported to the People's Committee of Tan Loi ward.

Upon receiving the information, the People's Committee of Tan Loi Ward established a team to make a record and inspect the area around the school. However, it has not yet been determined where the strange smell is coming from.

Through actual inspection at Nguyen Duc Canh Primary School, when preparing for lunch, there was still a foul smell.

Tan Loi Ward People's Committee has worked with the school to notify parents to pick up their children and not continue to have lunch with boarding students.

If parents live far away and cannot pick up their students, the homeroom teacher stays with the students in the classroom and turns on the fan.

The People's Committee of Tan Loi Ward has sent a quick report to the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City, the City Police, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Department of Education and Training for coordination in handling the incident.
