Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to dissolve AISVN International School after the expiration of the suspension period but failed to remedy the violations. The school and the investor must fulfill their financial obligations, ensuring the rights of students and workers.
The school must definitively pay the guaranteed debts in accordance with regulations, especially the late payments to the Social Insurance Fund, Health Insurance (BHXH, BHYT), Occupational Accident - Disease Insurance; be responsible before the law for the payment of debts; fulfill tax obligations according to the provisions of law; refund tuition fees and other collected but not yet used fees, and at the same time ensure the legitimate rights and interests of students.
The school must ensure the implementation of policies on salaries, allowances, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance as agreed in the signed labor contract and legal regulations for employees; hand over all educational records and management books to the City Department of Education and Training for storage according to regulations.
The Department of Education and Training (GDDT) is assigned to coordinate with relevant agencies to guide and support students to transfer to other schools to ensure their learning rights, without interruption.
AISVN has been suspended from operation by the Department of Education and Training for 12 months, from July 1, 2024. According to the 2019 Education Law and Decree 46 of the Government, the school does not ensure teaching conditions, financial resources, teachers, and staff.
Previously, in August 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training proposed dissolving AISVN International School because the suspension period expired but the above problems could not be overcome. The total amount of money still late in paying into social insurance, health, unemployment funds... of the company and school is more than 31 billion VND.
The scandal at My International School began around September 2023 when many parents flocked to the school gate, requesting to meet Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em - Chairwoman of the School Council, requesting Ms. Ut Em to pay according to the capital recovery contract.
These parents said that their children used to study at the US International School, were formally trained and tuition-free throughout their schooling. The condition is that if parents lend money to the school, the school will repay the loan from the time students finish grade 12 and complete the procedures to terminate the formal training program or complete the procedures to stop studying at the US International School.
However, many parents said that their children have finished school for a long time but they have not yet been refunded the money.
On June 28, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training issued a decision to suspend operations for American International School from July 1, 2024 because it did not have sufficient financial and human capacity to maintain teaching and learning.
