Gia Lai - Regarding the case of a 7th grade female student being beaten by a group of friends, Thong Nhat ward requested the school to hold a meeting to review and learn from the homeroom teacher.

On the afternoon of December 2, Ms. Hoang Thi Thao - Vice Chairman of Thong Nhat Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai Province) - reported on the incident of school violence that occurred at Ton Duc Thang Secondary School.

According to the report, in the schedule on November 28, class 7/1 has a Physical Education class starting at 1:50 p.m. However, some students arrived at class earlier than class time, at 5:15 p.m., and a fight broke out during this time. In which, two students T.T.P and T.N.H.T beat D.T.N.T, all three of whom were classmates.

The incident was filmed by other students. After that, the parents of the beaten student posted the clip on Facebook.

At 3:30 p.m. the same day, the school invited the homeroom teacher of class 7/1 and the parents of the three students involved to work, and asked the students to write a report on the incident.

The reason for the fight was due to a conflict over D.T.N.T borrowing a painting in Fine Arts from P. but making it lost and not finding it to return.

After the meeting, the parents of the children agreed to sign a record, coordinate with the school in reminding, educating, and managing students. Parents of P. and T.N.H.T agreed with the homeroom teacher to visit and apologize to D.T.N.T.

For students who witnessed the incident but did not prevent or report it to the teachers, the school asked them to write a report and notify their parents to coordinate education and management.

On the morning of December 1, D.T.N.T did not come to class, so the homeroom teacher contacted him to encourage him to go to school but could not contact his parents. On the same afternoon, D.T.N.T's parents contacted the school to discuss their wishes to transfer their child to another school.

The Vice Chairman of Thong Nhat Ward People's Committee said that the locality will direct the professional department, the Ward Police and Ton Duc Thang Secondary School to visit and encourage the family of the student who was abused, and at the same time encourage D.T.N.T to return to school soon.

At the same time, he requested Ton Duc Thang Secondary School to strengthen management and education of students, avoid school violence, ensure school safety; organize a review meeting to review and draw lessons for homeroom teachers of class 7.1 and related components in student management and education.
