The project to upgrade Xuan Dieu Street is a key project of Tay Ho district, nearly 1.1 km long (starting point intersects with To Ngoc Van Street, ending point intersects with Au Co Street), expanded based on the existing road, with a road width of 10.5 m and a sidewalk width of 5 m.
The project has a total investment of over 388 billion VND, with the Tay Ho District People's Committee as the investor.
Started in 2020, it was expected to be completed after 1 year, but to date, the project has not yet been finished. The reason is due to land clearance issues.
According to Lao Dong's report on the afternoon of July 29, the Xuan Dieu Street upgrade project has been basically completed and the technical route of nearly 1 km has been opened.

However, a section of more than 100m has not been expanded, causing traffic congestion for many years. Daily, during peak hours, vehicles are congested in long lines at this section and the Xuan Dieu - Au Co intersection.
"Due to the bottleneck, cars queue up in long lines, and motorbikes have to weave through cars, which is very dangerous and tiring to pass through," said Ms. Le Thi Ha (Quang An ward, Tay Ho district), who commutes daily through this "bottleneck" section, lamented.
According to the Tay Ho District Construction Investment Project Management Board (representing the investor), to implement the project, the Tay Ho District People's Committee issued a decision to recover more than 6,500 m2 of land involving 159 cases.
As of before April 2024, there were still 11 cases with a total area of 712.02 m2 unresolved.

After many rounds of propaganda and mobilization, the households still did not comply with handing over the land, so by June 2024, Tay Ho district authorities proceeded to force land recovery of these cases according to regulations.
Currently, the contractor is mobilizing machinery and workers to expand the remaining section after many years of delay.
The project is expected to open the technical route in August 2024, in sync with the technical route opening of Au Co - Nghi Tam Street to resolve traffic congestion in the area.

Au Co - Nghi Tam Street (Tay Ho district) has also been one of the most famous congested streets in Hanoi for many years. The road is narrow, while it is a vital artery connecting the center of Hanoi with Noi Bai International Airport, so it is often congested.
In 2020, Hanoi invested in expanding the road with the goal of reducing traffic congestion.
The project is 3.7 km long, starting at Thang Loi Hotel and ending at Nhat Tan intersection with a total investment of 544 billion VND, managed by the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
According to the initial plan, the expansion was expected to be completed after 1 year, but the project has been continuously delayed due to issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, material prices, and weather.

To date, the entire route has completed over 90% of the progress. Currently, the section from Thang Loi Hotel to Quang An Flower Market, about 1.5 km long, has been basically completed. The remaining section, over 1.5 km long from Quang An Flower Market, is under construction.
Observations at the Au Co - Nghi Tam Street expansion project on the afternoon of July 29 show that the construction atmosphere is very urgent. The construction site is almost never silent.

After the expansion is completed, the road will have a cross-section width from 26.5m to 31m, with the main road width from 16.5m to 21m (equivalent to 4 to 6 lanes).
The Au Co - Nghi Tam Street expansion project is expected to resolve congestion and ensure traffic connectivity between the center of Hanoi and Noi Bai International Airport when completed.
