On August 27, Mr. Do Minh Chau - Deputy Director of VNCN E&C Construction and Engineering Investment Joint Stock Company said that after nearly 2 months of starting construction on a sea sand mine in area B1 (Soc Trang province) to supply for the high-rise project. Up to now, at the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, the new exploitation capacity is about 6,500m3/day, with a total volume brought to the project of about 80,000m3.
Mr. Chau informed that because this is the first time organizing sea sand exploitation for construction at a highway project, the relevant units are still confused about the procedures; Exploitation plans and mining conditions (rough seas, high winds, long transportation routes), etc. resulted in the amount of sea sand brought to the construction site not reaching expectations.
"Sand mining ships operating at sea are limited in number, can only be registered and operate according to area and project. The mine location is about 26km from the mainland, then transported to the ship's port. about 17km more so it takes a lot of time, affecting the progress and volume of exploitation," Mr. Chau said.
Mr. Chau informed that in early September, when mobilizing 25 - 30 more mining equipment, it will ensure 20,000 - 30,000m3/day to serve the project according to demand.
