Relocating many trees to open the central road of Hanoi to 21m

Hanoi - The authorities have relocated many trees to implement the construction of the 720m-long Nguyen Tuan Street expansion, with an investment capital of nearly 400 billion VND.

Talking with Lao Dong, the leader of the Thanh Xuan District Investment and Construction Project Management Board (Hanoi) said that the authorities have relocated and cut down many trees on Nguyen Tuan Street to serve the construction of this road expansion.

Accordingly, the authorities have conducted surveys and cut down types of not-old urban trees, poor growth or pests.

Most of the remaining trees were moved to locations where trees were broken due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, while some other trees were moved to the park for planting and care.

According to the reporter's records on February 26, Nguyen Tuan Street has become more airy after many trees were relocated and cut down.

At the project site, the contractor is focusing on implementing the installation of a drainage system in front of the Industrial Ceramics - glass Research Institute (Ministry of Industry and Trade).

Some other sections have also been fenced with corrugated iron to serve the project's construction.

The leader of the Thanh Xuan District Construction Investment Project Management Board said that according to the plan, the Nguyen Tuan Street expansion project will be completed in 2025.

Nguyen Tuan Street is about 1.1km long, intersecting with Nguyen Trai Street and Le Van Luong Street. Of which, about 480m from Le Van Luong intersection to the beginning of alley 162 Nguyen Tuan has been expanded and renovated since 2003.

In particular, from alley 162 Nguyen Tuan to Nguyen Trai intersection (cross-section of 7-10m) has not been expanded, creating a "bottleneck" causing frequent congestion during rush hour.

Many people hope that the Nguyen Tuan Street expansion project will be completed soon to help reduce congestion and make travel more convenient.

The project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street has a total investment of nearly 400 billion VND. To implement the project, Thanh Xuan District must reclaim 14,334 m2 of land related to 11 organizations and 160 households and individuals.

The project is 720m long, starting at the intersection with Nguyen Trai Street, ending at Lane 162 Nguyen Tuan, with a cross-section of 21m (2 times the old road), including a 15m wide roadway and 3m wide sidewalks on both sides.

After completion of the expansion, Nguyen Tuan Street is expected to help reduce traffic congestion in the area, beautify the urban area, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Hanoi in general and Thanh Xuan District in particular.
