Reporting to Lao Dong Newspaper, many readers said that the project is over 2.2 km long, approved in December 2017 and expected to be completed in 2020. However, the project has been delayed for 5 years due to the biggest problem being site clearance.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (HCMC collective housing area, De La Thanh street) said that the street is always dusty, the road is often congested due to materials occupying the road surface. "We just hope the project will be re-implemented soon to stabilize our lives," he said.
According to records, along the La Thanh De, there are scenes of materials, waste, and steel lying around, covered with dust. Although many households have handed over the site, there are still many businesses that have not received compensation, causing the site clearance progress to be prolonged. After demolition, many families temporarily surrounded it with corrugated iron but the corrugated iron layer was not sealed and shifted, causing dust to spread strongly into the environment. The road surface has become a place to collect garbage, materials and construction waste, and has not been collected for a long time, turning the area into a "hot spot" for dust pollution.

Not only causing pollution, the project's delay also increases traffic pressure. The road is narrowed by corrugated iron fences and garbage, making it difficult for thousands of vehicles to move during rush hour. On old electric poles along the construction site, the tangled electric and telecommunication cables create a shabby image and pose a potential risk of fire and explosion.
According to information from the locality, O Cho Dua, Lang and Giang Vo wards are continuing to review cases that have not yet handed over the site, determine the cause and handle according to regulations. The wards will increase propaganda and mobilize people to receive compensation and hand over the site on schedule; at the same time, consider applying necessary enforcement measures such as stopping the supply of electricity, water, corrugated iron fences, etc. to cases of intentional non-compliance.

People expect the project to be completed soon to end the prolonged dusty and polluted situation, returning the street to a civilized appearance, synchronous in architecture, infrastructure and urban landscape.
The Ring Road 1 route was approved for investment at the end of 2017 with a total investment of more than VND 7,800 billion and is expected to be completed in 2020. However, the implementation process has been delayed many times. This project is known as "the most expensive road on the planet".
At the meeting on November 27, 2025, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that the implementation of the project must have "name, someone in charge, and a time for completion"; requesting a clear division of responsibilities between levels (wards, departments, cities) to ensure progress.
Currently, O Cho Dua, Lang, Giang Vo wards are continuing to review cases that have not yet handed over the site, clarify the cause and resolve them completely. Strengthen propaganda and mobilization of households to receive compensation and hand over the site in accordance with regulations. If necessary, the wards will take necessary enforcement measures such as stopping the supply of electricity, water, corrugated iron fences, etc. to households that deliberately do not comply with regulations.
According to the People's Committee of Giang Vo Ward, there are a total of 795 site clearance plans in the area, 100% of which have been approved. There are still some cases where the site has not been handed over due to disagreement with the State's compensation policy and some other objective reasons. A representative of the People's Committee of O Cho Dua Ward said that the local government has increased mobilization, propaganda, and persuasion of households to hand over the site; at the same time, issued a decision to enforce the recovery in accordance with regulations, ensuring order and safety for people and property.
People hope the project will be completed soon to stabilize their lives, end the dusty and prolonged pollution, and turn the street into a modern one.
