Returning to the construction site of the Thang Long Avenue expressway, the section connecting National Highway 21 to the Hanoi - Hoa Binh expressway in early September 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters noted that the project had not made much progress compared to 4 months ago (May 2024).
After nearly a year of construction, the contractor has only started construction on a small area in Tien Xuan commune (Thach That district, Hanoi). At the construction site, there are only a few machines and workers.
The main tasks at the construction site are mainly the construction of bored piles and casting concrete components for the construction of the overpass. The remaining section of the route, which is more than 6km long, has not been constructed due to lack of land.
The investment project to build the Thang Long Avenue expressway, the section connecting National Highway 21 to Hanoi - Hoa Binh expressway, will start construction in October 2023.
The project has a total investment of VND5,249 billion, invested by the Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board. The city plans to complete the 6.7km long road with a cross-section of 120-180m by 2026.
According to the assessment of the Hanoi People's Committee, the implementation of the project investment will gradually complete the entire Hanoi - Hoa Binh highway; develop and expand the capital Hanoi to the West, meeting the rapidly increasing transportation demand; and be the driving force for the development of Hoa Lac satellite urban area and the western satellite urban chain.
The Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board said that to implement the project, about 105.8 hectares of land must be reclaimed and cleared. To date, the Project Management Board has received 7.6 hectares of land in Tien Xuan commune (Thach That district).
Here, the contractor is currently implementing the construction of bored piles (45/68 piles), casting concrete components (13/128 beams) to serve the construction of the overpass of the planned road Km2+522.5 (belonging to package No. 31).
Currently, the investor and contractor are waiting for the site to continue construction. However, with the large volume of project site, if it is not handed over soon, it will be difficult to ensure the project progress to be completed in 2026 as required by the Hanoi People's Committee.
