Hanoi to build underpass worth nearly VND3,000 billion, upgrade arterial roads

Hanoi is about to implement the Hoang Quoc Viet - Pham Van Dong underpass construction project and the project to upgrade provincial road 427 through Thuong Tin, with a total capital of about VND 3,650 billion.

On April 10, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision No. 1966 approving the investment policy for the Hoang Quoc Viet underpass construction project extended with Pham Van Dong Street and connecting with Tran Vy Street.

Accordingly, the tunnel was built at the intersection between Hoang Quoc Viet extended road and Pham Van Dong road, towards Tran Vy road.

The project is about 600m long, the tunnel cross-section is 22.1m, including 6 lanes, with a total investment of nearly 3,000 billion VND.

Within the project scope, the road area on both sides in front of the Ministry of Public Security gate has been renovated with an area of 14.75m wide, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles, and a sidewalk of 4.5m wide. Hoang Quoc Viet extended road has been newly invested in construction with a cross-section of 50m.

In addition, the existing Hoang Quoc Viet road will have sidewalks cut, the median strip will be adjusted, and the lanes on the right and left sides of the roads around the intersection will be expanded.

Technical infrastructure, trees, traffic lights, and overall traffic organization plans at intersections will be built to ensure safety and urban aesthetics.

The project is prepared for investment in 2025, implemented in 2026-2028. In particular, Cau Giay and Bac Tu Liem districts implement component projects related to compensation, resettlement support, and relocation of technical infrastructure. The Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor of the construction part.

In addition to the Hoang Quoc Viet - Pham Van Dong underpass, the Hanoi People's Committee also issued a decision approving the Provincial Road 427 Upgrade Project according to the planning in Thuong Tin district, from Chiec bridge to Duong Truc Nguyen overpass - Ga intersection - Dua bridge.

According to the decision, the project aims to create a traffic route with complete technical infrastructure to meet the living and travel needs of people in the area. Improve traffic capacity, meet traffic needs on Provincial Road 427 and connect smoothly with major traffic routes in the area; improve traffic organization and safety measures to create a smooth and efficient traffic route.

At the same time, contribute to completing the transport network according to the capital's transport development plan to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister; create a premise to promote socio-economic and urban development and improve the living standards of people in Thuong Tin district, contributing to the overall development of the city.

The City People's Committee assigned the Thuong Tin District People's Committee as the investor with a construction investment of more than 650 billion VND, to be implemented in 2025-2027.

The project belongs to group B, a level II project. The total length of about 3.59km includes 5 sections with the following items: Site clearance; construction of roadbed, sidewalk, canal overpass, rainwater drainage, wastewater drainage, traffic safety system, roadbed embankment, fire protection, irrigation ditch restoration, lighting and other synchronous technical infrastructure systems.
