Hanoi - Linh Nam Street (Hoang Mai District) is over 3km long and will be widened to 22.5-40m, with 829 households and 19 organizations having their land recovered.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Vu Tuan Dat, Director of the Hoang Mai District Land Fund Development Center (Hanoi) said that the Hoang Mai District People's Committee has assigned this unit to coordinate with relevant parties to complete the procedures to restart the Linh Nam Road Upgrade and Expansion Project.

According to Mr. Dat, the project to upgrade and expand Linh Nam Street was approved for investment by the Hanoi People's Committee in 2013.

The project is about 3.4km long, starting at Tam Trinh intersection and ending at Nguyen Khoi embankment intersection. Part of the route (from Vinh Hung intersection to Nguyen Khoi embankment) is part of Hanoi's Ring Road 2.5.

According to the plan, Linh Nam road will be expanded based on the existing road, with 2 sections with cross-sections of 22.5m and 40m respectively.

By August 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the adjustment of the implementation time of the Linh Nam Road Upgrade and Expansion Project according to the planning, to be completed in 2027.

The reason for the adjustment is due to difficulties and problems in site clearance, leading to the project not ensuring progress.

According to Mr. Vu Tuan Dat, to implement the project, Hoang Mai district will reclaim and clear 98,300 square meters of land, involving 829 households and 19 organizations in 4 wards, including Mai Dong, Vinh Hung, Linh Nam and Tran Phu.

Based on the resolution of the Hanoi People's Council, the Hoang Mai District People's Council plans to hold a meeting in October 2024 to allocate funds to implement the project in 2024.

The Land Fund Development Center is assigned to organize the selection of a unit to measure and map the site clearance, coordinate with the People's Committees of the wards to continue to organize the issuance of land recovery notices, investigation and inventory.

In the immediate future, the People's Committee of Hoang Mai district will prepare documents and approve specific land prices for site clearance compensation in October 2024.

Hoang Mai District People's Committee strives to start construction by June 2025 and complete the project by 2027.

When completed, Linh Nam Road expansion will play an important role in connecting Ring Road 2.5 with Ring Road 3.

The upgrading and expansion of Linh Nam Street will facilitate traffic from Thanh Tri Bridge - Ring Road 3 to Dam Hong - Nguyen Trai; help reduce traffic congestion on main roads at the southern gateway, contributing to the socio-economic development of Hoang Mai district.
