According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway construction site through Can Tho City, many workers, engineers and machinery are focusing on casting bridge girders and other items.
Mr. Truong Vu Thang - Construction Commander of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company - said that the unit has mobilized all human resources and equipment to urgently construct after Tet.

According to Mr. Truong Vu Thang, the sand source is scarce, affecting the project's progress. The contractor hopes to solve this problem soon.
Mr. Truong Vu Thang said that favorable weather in the dry season helps the bridge construction be effective. The unit mobilizes all human resources, 3 shifts/day (about 30 people/shift) to ensure progress.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project through Can Tho City has a total of 5 construction packages (including 4 construction packages and 1 construction package for the construction of the traffic safety system). The value of the construction volume reached about 23%.
Previously, the Ministry of Transport issued a document responding to the petition of voters in An Giang province regarding the construction progress of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang transversal expressway. Up to now, the project has achieved certain results (land clearance and resettlement work has reached 99%, construction volume has reached about 30%...).
However, the implementation progress is still slower than the plan due to a shortage of sand materials for roadbed construction (to date, only about 23 million m3/total demand of the project of about 29 million m3 has been identified). Localities are speeding up procedures for granting mining licenses and reviewing additional sources of sand lacking, while considering the option of using sea sand in Soc Trang province to build roadbeds.
On the Can Tho - Hau Giang expressway, part of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam - Construction Supervisor of the site, part of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) - informed that the contractor in charge of the construction from Km34 (+100) to Km38 (+880), after the Lunar New Year, the unit focused on the construction of loading items, on the main route, the unit has completed the sand loading, speeding up the volume of crushed stone loading.
The IC4 intersection location includes 2 branch routes connecting directly to National Highway 61. Due to the pressure of the remaining sandload, the exploitation period is only about 10 days, so we are focusing on developing a plan and working overtime to meet the progress of completing and handing over the project for use by the end of this year," said Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam.
Regarding the main route, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam added that the CC1 contractor is in charge of about 4km, the branch route is about 3.2km. There are 6 large culvert locations along the entire route, and 5 culverts have been concreted, the remaining one is expected to be completed this month.
According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, up to now, the Can Tho - Hau Giang expressway has basically completed 100% of site clearance. Regarding the construction situation, the accumulated output reached about 66% of the contract value.
