Completed land clearance for the expressway section through Quang Tri

On October 12, the Steering Committee for Land Clearance of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway in Quang Tri province confirmed that it had completed compensation, paid support for land clearance and handed over 32.53/32.53km of land, reaching 100%.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Son - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Land Clearance of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway in Quang Tri Province said that the biggest problem in the process of clearing the main route of the expressway is the 200 meter section passing through the Quang Tri Forestry Products Joint Stock Company (Vinh Linh District, Quang Tri Province).

This company refused to relocate, the local authorities have come up with a plan to enforce the construction, but at the meeting on October 1, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province had a meeting with the parties to find a way to handle the situation, and came to an agreement that Quang Tri Forestry Joint Stock Company would dismantle it itself. After that, Quang Tri Forestry Joint Stock Company relocated its assets on the land, and will relocate all of them on October 12.

Before completing 100% of the main route site clearance, Quang Tri province relocated 176/176 affected households on the main highway route. Currently, the construction progress of 9 resettlement areas has basically completed the infrastructure construction, with 157 households currently building houses in the resettlement areas.

“The most difficult part is the resettlement of people, then the site clearance on the main route has been completed. In the coming time, localities will focus on resolving difficulties related to affected cases on the roads connecting both sides of the National Highway 9 overpass, the northern bypass of National Highway 9, National Highway 9D and the branch connecting the expressway. It is expected that in October, the site clearance will be completed and the site will be handed over for the overpass and connecting road projects,” said Mr. Tran Ngoc Son.

Mr. Mai Quy Khanh - Deputy Head of Project Management Department 4 of Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that in the past, due to the delay in site clearance, contractors had to construct "in a haphazard manner", constructing each section that was handed over. Now that the main route has been completed, the unit will require contractors to focus on human and material resources to complete the construction on schedule as assigned by the Government.
