Regarding the overall progress of the Urban Railway Project No. 3, Nhon - Hanoi Station section, the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board said that up to now, the bidding packages CP01 - viaduct, CP02 - elevated stations, CP04 - depot infrastructure and CP05 - depot architecture have been basically completed.
Package CP03 - tunnels and underground stations reached 50.2%; package CP06 - railway 1 reached 91.5% (underground part not yet constructed according to plan); package CP07 - railway 2 reached 47.1% (underground part reached 10.61%); package CP08 - railway 3 reached 73.2% (underground part reached 1.33%) and package CP09 - ticket system reached 84% (underground part not yet constructed according to plan).
For the underground section, the contractor has completed 73.04% of the underground ramp; station S9 has completed 51.7%, the vertical shaft has completed 41.74%; stations S10, S11, S12 (including lane change and garage) have completed 65.2%, 58.97%, 43.2% respectively.
In addition, construction activities are taking place at all construction sites. At station S10, the external structure is being implemented. At station S11, the base slab is being constructed. At station S12, the waterproofing system is being constructed south of the top slab. The lane change and garage are being cut and the road is being restored; at the underground ramp area, excavation and construction of the box tunnel structure are being carried out at the same time.
Previously, at the end of July 2024, the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) excavator began drilling the underground section of the Nhon - Hanoi station metro line.
TBM No. 1 (named Than Toc) drilled from Station S9 - Kim Ma at a depth of 17.8 m. To date, TBM1 has constructed 625 m of tunnel, 420 tunnel lining rings have been installed.
TBM No. 2 (named Bold) is expected to start construction in January 2025.
Two robots are digging two parallel tunnels from Station S9 - Kim Ma Station to Station S12 - Tran Hung Dao Station. According to the plan, the 4km underground tunnel of Nhon - Hanoi Station metro will be completed in October 2025.
The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station Metro is 12.5 km long, with 8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations. Of which, the elevated section from Nhon to Cau Giay is 8.5 km long and the underground section from Cau Giay to Hanoi Railway Station is 4 km long.
Route: Starting point Nhon - along National Highway 32 - Cau Dien - Mai Dich - intersection with Ring Road 3 - Cau Giay (intersection with Ring Road 2) - Kim Ma - Cat Linh - Quoc Tu Giam - Hanoi station (on Tran Hung Dao street).
Trains from Station S8 (Thu Le) will go down to the basement (the ramp has been built next to Daewoo Hotel) then enter tunnel S9, passing through S10, S11, S12 (last station, opposite Hanoi station).
The project started in 2009 and was scheduled to be completed in 2015, but the schedule was delayed several times. On August 8, 2024, the elevated section began commercial operations, and the entire line is expected to be completed in 2027.
