On November 22, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that Mimosa Pass is an important gateway to Da Lat, located on National Highway 20. Due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, this pass has just been broken for about 100m and cut off from the entire route.
To soon fix the landslide point connecting traffic, the Provincial People's Committee worked with the consulting unit, the Ministry of Construction and the contractor. The province aims to clear Mimosa Pass (National Highway 20) in 10 days.

According to the leader of the Ministry of Construction, the main cause of the serious landslide of Mimosa Pass was due to the accumulated rainwater for many days that had built up the roadbed from the cliff. Due to the water pressure, the basalt soil was blown up and the mountain pass structure was damaged.
Based on a survey of the scene of the Mimosa Pass landslide, the Ministry of Construction is considering two technical options to overcome the situation.
Option 1 is to build a overpass over the unstable area. The advantage is that it does not depend on weak soil and thoroughly handles the underground water problem; the construction time is shortened if the assembly structure is used, but specialized equipment and materials need to be mobilized.

Option 2 is to build stone to create the roadbed and asphalt it back. The rock block allows water to drain through, reducing pressure on the hollow water, limiting landslides, combining a vertical - regional drainage system and reinforcing the slope.
Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi added that the province has calculated a large supply of stone to quickly implement if choosing the option of filling stone to create a roadbed.
According to Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, the Ministry of Construction has not yet finalized the final plan. A overpass may be built across the route to ensure long-term road safety.

The immediate requirement is to prevent widespread landslides, open temporary roads to connect the route for traffic to connect traffic to Da Lat through Mimosa Pass in the next 10 days.
Currently, the construction unit is implementing the opening of a temporary road, aiming to open the route earlier than planned to make Lam Dong's economic activities smooth.
