5 construction packages of the new Bien Hoa City central road project have reached more than 25%
On November 5, according to the Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the progress of the Bien Hoa City central axis road construction project, from Vo Thi Sau Street to Dang Van Tron Street (Thong Nhat Bridge and the road connecting the two ends of the bridge) - so far only nearly 50% of the construction site area has been handed over.
Regarding implementation progress, the investor has signed contracts and implemented construction of 5 main construction packages (including 2 bridge packages and 3 road packages) with the implementation value of the packages reaching about 25.6%.
According to the Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, only about 48.2% of the project's construction site has been handed over so far (16.09 hectares of residential land, traffic, rivers and streams).
However, the discontinuous site has led to the failure to synchronously implement construction items.
Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board recommends that the Provincial Land Fund Development Center promptly complete site clearance compensation.
Regarding the dumping site serving the project construction, the Management Board recommends that the People's Committee of Bien Hoa City support the arrangement of public land and low-lying areas in the area to serve as dumping sites for the project (which are common wastes during the project construction process).
Construction started nearly 2 years ago and only 50% of the site has been handed over
The project to build the central axis road of Bien Hoa city is 5.4 km long, divided into 2 branches.
In which, branch 1 starts at the intersection of Vo Thi Sau Street and ends at the intersection of Dang Van Tron Street (at An Hao Bridge intersection) with a road section 3.1 km long, 60 m wide, and Thong Nhat Bridge section 563.8 m long, 31 m wide.
Branch 2 has its starting point at the roundabout intersection with branch 1 (Hiep Hoa ward), its ending point is at the intersection of Dang Van Tron street (at the intersection of Buu Hoa bridge head road) with a route length of about 1.7 km, roadbed width of 47 m.
The Bien Hoa City Central Axis Road Project with Thong Nhat Bridge and the road connecting the two ends of the bridge with a total investment of more than VND 1,506 billion was started on January 31, 2023 and is expected to be completed after nearly 3 years of construction.
The construction unit of Thong Nhat Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge is a joint venture of Mekong Construction Investment Joint Stock Company No. 1 - CII Infrastructure Construction Joint Stock Company - Vinadelta Joint Stock Company - SHC Joint Stock Company.
This is a key traffic project of Dong Nai province, but after nearly 2 years of construction, it still faces many difficulties regarding the site.
Mr. Ngo The An - Director of the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects of Dong Nai province - recently said that the Bien Hoa city central axis road project, Huong Lo 2 road project and Vam Cai Sut bridge all have an implementation period of 2020-2024.
If not completed in 2024, the project must continue to be adjusted, the implementation time must be extended, and the construction time must be prolonged.
Besides, the delay in completion and putting into operation will affect the socio-economic development of Bien Hoa city and Dong Nai province.
For construction contractors, having to extend construction time puts them at risk of being affected by fluctuations in construction material prices.
The Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the Bien Hoa City Central Road Construction Project requires clearing an area of over 33 hectares with 380 households. Of which, 50 households are from Thong Nhat Ward and 330 households are from Hiep Hoa Ward, both in Bien Hoa City.
