Previously, Thanh Xuan District People's Committee issued Decision No. 2527/QD-UBND approving the plan to organize the enforcement of land recovery in cases of non-compliance with the handover of land to implement the project of renovating and expanding Nguyen Tuan Street.

Accordingly, Thanh Xuan district will organize enforcement, reclaim 2,479.64m2 of land and constructions on land of 88 households and individuals who do not agree to receive money and hand over the land to implement the project. The enforcement period will take place from October 14.

Currently, Thanh Xuan District People's Committee assigned relevant units to continue to carry out propaganda and mobilization work so that households and individuals agree to hand over the premises before the enforcement time.

The project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street according to the planning is one of the key traffic projects in Thanh Xuan district.

The project was approved in 2018, with a total investment of about 400 billion VND, with the goal of helping to reduce traffic congestion, improve urban landscape and create momentum for socio-economic development in Thanh Xuan district.

Starting point at Nguyen Trai intersection, ending point at lane 162 Nguyen Tuan, 720m long, expanded on the basis of the existing road. When completed, the route will have a cross-section of 21m, including a 15m wide roadway and 3m wide shoulders.

By 2020, Thanh Xuan District People's Committee approved the project's construction drawing design in Decision No. 1928/QD-UBND.

Initially, Thanh Xuan district set a target to approve all compensation and site clearance plans by the end of 2022. By mid-2023, the project will be implemented and the road expansion will be completed after 1 year.

However, the project has not been able to be implemented yet. Site clearance is the most difficult and stuck issue causing the project to stagnate.

Nguyen Tuan Street is an important route connecting two radial axes, Nguyen Trai and Le Van Luong. The road surface is narrow and has not been widened for many years, making it very difficult for people to travel, especially during rush hour.
