Billion-dollar roads, the new look of Nam Dinh

Nam Dinh - Roads with investment capital of thousands of billions of VND are gradually being completed, bringing a new look to Nam Dinh province.

One of the key traffic routes in Nam Dinh province is the construction of the new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road. The project passes through 5 districts of Nam Truc, Truc Ninh, Hai Hau, Xuan Truong and Giao Thuy with a total route length of about 24.7km; total investment of about 6,400 billion VND.

It is known that this is a project with the scale of a level I plain road, design speed of 100km/h, roadbed width of 39m, road surface of 8 lanes, synchronous design of bridges and culverts on the route to ensure compliance with the scale of the road level.

Also a key route in Nam Dinh, the investment project to build a development axis connecting the Nam Dinh coastal economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway has a total investment of more than 5,000 billion VND and is gradually being completed. The starting point of the project is at Km0+0 of the Cao Bo intersection area in Y Yen district; the end point of the project is at Km46+0 of Nghia Phuc commune (now Phuc Thang commune), Nghia Hung district; the route length is about 46km.

The complete scale of the project, the road section, the section from Cao Bo intersection to the road leading to Thinh Long bridge (Km00+00 - Km36+400) is about 36.4km; level II delta scale, roadbed width 24m, road surface 4 lanes for motor vehicles. The section from the road leading to Thinh Long bridge to Rang Dong Industrial Park (Km36+400 - Km46) is about 9.6km; the scale of the main urban street is mainly roadbed width 32.5 - 34.5m; road surface 6 lanes for motor vehicles.

Next is the project to build the southern axis road of Nam Dinh city (from Vu Huu Loi street to National Highway 21B), with a total investment of about 1,500 billion VND. This route is 6.57km long, passing through Nam Van (Nam Dinh city) and Nam Toan, Hong Quang, Nam Cuong communes (Nam Truc district).

Finally, the coastal road construction project, the section through Nam Dinh province. This is a route with a total investment of more than 2,600 billion VND. The total length of the route is 65.58km; starting from KM0+00 in Giao Thien commune (Giao Thuy district), ending at KM65+580 in Nghia Hai commune (Nghia Hung district). In which, the sections that overlap National Highway 37B, National Highway 21 and the Thinh Long bridge project section take advantage of the existing route, without investment.

Up to now, the coastal road, the section passing through Nam Dinh province, has been received by the Department of Transport to put into operation and use, serving the travel needs of the people.

Mr. Pham Hong Thai - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Nam Dinh province - said that in order to gradually invest in building and perfecting the province's transport network according to the plan. The completion and operation of the province's key transport projects will shorten the distance from the southern districts of the province to the center of Nam Dinh city and neighboring provinces. Creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development, promoting tourism development of the coastal economic zone of Nam Dinh province in particular, of Nam Dinh province and the Red River Delta region in general.
