Excited to take photos of check-in with the national flag, Nguyen Phuong Thao (hometown of Ha Giang) shared: "This year, I and my family decided to buy tickets to fly to Ho Chi Minh City to see the parade, parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. In order not to queue, I have come before more than 2 hours to check in".
According to the representative of Noi Bai International Airport, on the peak day during the holiday season, the airport is expected to serve 108,000 passengers. Of which, the peak day before the holiday is April 29, expected to have 7 peak hours with more than 2,000 visitors/hour.
To ensure safe flights, Noi Bai International Airport has developed a detailed service plan, divided into stages and time frames, ensuring readiness in terms of human resources, equipment, and means to meet service needs.
Previously, from the afternoon of April 28, the Ministry of Public Security officially opened aviation procedures using biometric technology on the VNeID platform at Noi Bai International Airport.
The application of biometric technology significantly reduces the time for procedures, reduces pressure in security areas, increases throughput, and brings a more modern, convenient and safer passenger experience.
During this year's holiday, Vietnamese airlines plan to operate 7,536 domestic flights, an average of 685 flights/day, an increase of 21% over the same period in 2024.
In particular, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route continues to be the focus with 1,261 flights planned, an increase of 16% over the same period last year. The number of seats provided on this flight axis reached 305,000 seats, an increase of 11% over the same period last year.
Railway increases trips, reduces ticket prices
According to the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, due to the increased demand for travelers during the April 30 holiday, the enterprise organized the run of the Thong Dan train from Hanoi station to Saigon station. Specifically, 2 more SE9 trains will depart at 1:05 p.m. on April 29 and 30, 2025, arriving at Saigon Station at 4:00 a.m. the following day.
The train stops to pick up and drop off passengers at 34 stations, including famous tourist destinations such as: Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Dong Hoi, Hue, Da Nang, Dieu Tri, Nha Trang... Passengers can buy tickets and board the train at stations along the route.

The railway also organized the operation of the SE30/29 train pair between Saigon - Quy Nhon stations. SE30 train departs from Saigon station on April 29, 30 and 1, May 2, 2025; SE29 train departs from Quy Nhon station on April 27, 29, 30, and 1, 3, and 4, 2025.
On this occasion, the railway continues to apply a policy of reducing ticket prices for social policy beneficiaries, the elderly, children, students, and union members. Children under 6 years old are exempted from tickets; children from 6 to under 10 years old are discounted by 25%.
In particular, in order to show gratitude to people with revolutionary contributions, the railway has reduced ticket prices by 40% for war invalids, sick soldiers, veterans, martyrs' relatives and those who enjoy the same policy as war invalids. The program is valid until May 9, 2025.
Hanoi: Bus stations are crowded before the holiday
On the afternoon of April 29, records at major bus stations such as Giap Bat, My Dinh, and Nuoc Ngam showed a sudden increase in the number of passengers arriving. Many people bring big luggage, take advantage of it to return to their hometowns or travel before the long holiday.
It is forecasted that the number of passengers will peak from the evening of April 29 to the end of April 30, concentrated on routes with large traffic such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa...
Bus stations have proactively increased vehicles with a total of 625 vehicles: Giap Bat added 262 vehicles, Gia Lam 83 vehicles, My Dinh 280 vehicles. The exploitation frequency is also flexibly adjusted according to actual flow.

At My Dinh Bus Station, the peak can reach 22,000 visitors/day (an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days) with more than 950 vehicles, concentrated on Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Quang Ninh, Son La, Dien Bien routes. Giap Bat is expected to welcome about 20,000 visitors/day, mainly to Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa. Gia Lam increased by about 300%, focusing on Hai Phong and Quang Ninh routes.

The bus station management board has increased the force to regulate, arrange more ticket counters, closely monitor congestion, price pressure and require bus companies not to abandon trips or increase ticket prices contrary to regulations.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung - Director of Giap Bat Bus Station - said that the number of passengers increased but it was in the plan, ensuring enough vehicles for service. At the same time, it is recommended that passengers should buy tickets early through official channels, follow traffic diversion instructions, avoid congestion at the wharf gate and maintain order and safety when traveling.
