On October 31, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province - chaired the October 2024 thematic meeting of the Provincial People's Committee.
The meeting focused on discussing and giving opinions on the feasibility study report of the project on compensation, support, resettlement, technical infrastructure return, and site clearance of the Gia Binh Airport Construction Project.
The project, invested by the Gia Binh District Construction Project Management Board, covers an area of about 125 hectares in Xuan Lai commune and Gia Binh town with a total cost of more than 887 billion VND.
According to the appraisal report of the Department of Construction, the project basically ensures feasibility, meets the approval conditions according to regulations; is suitable in terms of planning, objectives, investment scale; basic design solutions, list of applicable standards; implementation organization solutions, experience and project management capacity of the investor, site clearance plan, implementation form...
Based on the opinions of departments and branches, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that the Gia Binh Airport construction project is a key project on national security and defense of the country as well as of the Ministry of Public Security and the province.
Recently, the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and Gia Binh district have focused on site clearance to serve the construction of Gia Binh Airport.
Based on the work with the Ministry of Public Security, the province has agreed in principle to hand over the site to the Mobile Police Command on December 1, 2024 to start construction and complete the project on the occasion of the 14th National Party Congress.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province assigned Gia Binh district to complete the dossier and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee to sign the decision approving the project to report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council for consideration and decision on allocating capital to implement the project.
The meeting also reviewed and commented on contents such as: transfer of public investment capital in 2024, detailed list of public career services using state budget in the field of training and fostering of cadres, civil servants, public employees and many other important contents.
Previously, on September 17, 2024, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 98/QD-TTg approving the investment policy of Gia Binh Airport Project.
In which, phase 1 will build a specialized airport with a 1,500m runway and a land use scale of about 125 hectares in Xuan Lai commune and Gia Binh town.
Upon completion, Gia Binh Airport will be a level 3 helicopter airport, a level 3 military airport, and a civil airport equivalent to level 3C according to ICAO standards.
The main task of this airport is to serve the People's Public Security Air Force Regiment in performing training flights and combat readiness on equipped helicopters; reserve for military flights and some other civil aviation activities.
