By the early morning of September 1, after the body of the car driver was brought from the hospital in Ho Chi Minh City to his home in Phan Thiet, the authorities had completed the autopsy according to regulations.

As reported by Lao Dong, the railway accident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on August 30, at km 1531 of the North-South railway, through Ma Lam town, Ham Thuan Bac, Binh Thuan.
Cargo train HH5 traveling from North to South reached the above location when it hit a car with license plate 86C - 151.85 driven by driver HQV (born in 1982, residing in Phong Nam commune, Phan Thiet city) crossing the opening and dragged it about 300m.

The car was lying across the front of the train and was deformed, trapping Mr. V inside. People broke the car frame and stood around to lift the driver out and take him to Binh Thuan General Hospital for emergency treatment.
After that, Mr. V was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City hospital for treatment due to severe multiple injuries. On the evening of August 31, his family took him home to arrange his funeral because he did not survive.
