At Thanh Lanh golf course (Phu Tho), members of the Northern Golf Team and the Southern Team officially competed.
Previously, on March 11, the professional department of the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) conducted a draw for the competition program.
On the first day, golfers of the Northern Golf Team and the Southern Team competed in the foursomes format in the morning and the fourball format in the afternoon.
In the morning, the representatives of the Northern Golf Team took the lead when they won 3-1.
In the foursomes format, the matches took place including Nguyen Van Thuat/Pham Quoc Phuong (South) with Doan Van Nam/Nguyen Van Long (North), Nguyen Hoai Nam/Nguyen Tien Manh (South) with Nguyen Xuan Hong/Luu Dinh Hung (North), Mai Duc Thuy/Hoang Ngoc Quy (South) with Ha Ngoc Hoang Loc/Pham Minh Phong and Nong Trung Hieu/Le Hong Phong (South) and Au Van Son/Do Quang Khanh (North).
In the afternoon, the Southern Golf Team played more effectively when competing in the fourball format against the opponent. At the end of this format, the Southern Golf Team won 2.5-1.5.
On the temporary final results, the Northern Golf Team is temporarily leading the Southern Golf Team with a score of 4.5-3.5.
On March 13, golfers from both sides will continue to play 4 fourball matches and 4 foursomes matches. After this round, the parties will compete in 12 singles matches to decide the overall result at the tournament.
