On August 6, in Tra On commune, the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, Disability Protection and Child Rights Protection of Vinh Long province organized a meeting and presented gifts to Agent Orange victims to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2026).
Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province - emphasized that caring for Agent Orange victims is not only a responsibility but also a humanitarian gesture, showing the tradition of solidarity and mutual affection of the nation.
At the same time, calling on all levels, sectors, businesses and philanthropists to continue to accompany and support so that victims have more conditions to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
On this occasion, the Vinh Long Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, Disability Protection and Child Rights Protection presented 50 gifts to Agent Orange victims in particularly difficult circumstances in Tra On commune. Each gift includes 1 million VND in cash, t-shirts and masks.
According to the Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin Association, Disability Protection and Child Rights Protection of Vinh Long province, on August 5 and 6, the unit presented 150 gifts to Agent Orange victims in many localities in the province, with a total value of over 150 million VND from the Agent Orange Victim Support Fund and contributions from businesses and philanthropists.
According to the plan, on August 10, the Association will continue to organize a meeting in Cang Long commune and award 50 more gifts, with a total value of over 50 million VND, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing, joining hands to soothe the pain of Agent Orange and better care for victims in the province.
