Support for business households in digital transformation
In many localities, grassroots authorities are proactively taking action, considering digital transformation and the digital economy as important solutions to improve the efficiency of commercial and business activities of individual households.
Mr. Tran Quang Sang - Chairman of Cau Kieu Ward People's Committee - said that digital transformation and digital economy bring many practical benefits to local business activities. On that basis, the ward creates favorable conditions for individuals and business households to gradually approach and implement digital transformation.
Cau Kieu Ward has just launched its own business association, established a mobilization committee to connect and support business households. This is also a consulting point to help business households convert, start businesses, promote digital transformation, thereby building a favorable and transparent business environment" - Mr. Sang said.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Trinh - Chairman of Thu Duc Ward People's Committee - said that the locality has implemented many synchronous solutions to support business households such as legal training, giving away business registration certificates, opening free legal consultation points, investing in guided robots, giving away free digital signatures and accompanying business households when converting to the business model.
According to Ms. Trinh, this conversion is an inevitable trend, especially in the context that from January 1, 2026, the tax declaration and payment process will be more automated and transparent, facilitating business households to expand operations and access capital.
"In the coming time, the ward will continue to implement additional support programs such as tax management software, online sales tools, legal support, technology, and business connections" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Trinh shared.
3-level digital transformation roadmap
From the perspective of specialized management, Mr. Nguyen An Son - Head of the Market Digital Transformation Project, Digital Transformation Department, Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - informed that many business households have succeeded in proactively converting to digital early, thereby doing effective business on e-commerce platforms. However, according to Mr. Son, there are still a large number of traders, especially older households, who are limited in digital skills, making the conversion process difficult.
In addition, many business households also face challenges such as weak management capacity, dependent goods sources on traders, lack of stability and difficulty in expanding scale.
To support small traders to get used to digital transformation, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy has proposed a transition roadmap for three levels. At level one, the market management board manages traders using software; at the same time, 100% of traders apply cashless payment, use sales management software and issue electronic invoices. When data is standardized, management and supervision will be more convenient, and consumers can easily look up.
On the established digital platform, traders are oriented to implement level two, which is e-commerce application. Accordingly, 100% of traders are trained in knowledge and skills to do business on digital platforms, build online booths and access support solutions such as logistics, smartbox, livestream, to expand customer base.
At level three, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy aims at sustainable digital transformation, ensuring a stable source of goods for small traders and gradually applying cross-border e-commerce to export goods.
