On the morning of September 2, 2025, a parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will take place at Ba Dinh Square. Behind this event is Viettel's key campaign, ensuring to maintain the "digital lifestyle".
These days, millions of hearts of Vietnamese people will turn to the capital Hanoi. These are historic moments that everyone wants to capture and share. Behind the sharp livestream footage, video calls with relatives and millions of posts on social networks is a quiet "campaign" that is no less determined by Viettel telecommunications soldiers.

The real challenge lies in a series of large-scale events taking place at the same time across Hanoi streets such as parades and morning parades on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square and central streets; a series of high-altitude fireworks display locations along with many "huge" cultural and artistic events on weekends such as national concerts, Fatherland in the heart, V-Concert, ... each gathering from tens to hundreds of thousands of spectators. Viettel's task is to ensure that people capture those moments in the most complete way.

It is expected that about 2.9 million people will flock to the parade and march area, of which about 900,000 people will move from other provinces and cities. Compared to normal days, people's needs are not only to surf the web or watch movies, but also to livestream, make video calls, post high-quality photos and videos. Each citizen, with a smartphone in hand, will become a "mobile television station", creating unprecedented pressure on the network.

To complete this mission, Viettel has outlined a comprehensive combat plan with more than 2,400 technical solutions, 12 times higher than the same event on September 2, 2024, and 7 times higher than the workload to ensure the A50 event taking place in Ho Chi Minh City. Among them, Viettel has newly deployed 500 BTS 5G stations, and for the first time in Vietnam, 1,200 small 5G stations (smallcell 5G) are deployed at crowded locations. In addition, 700 temporary 4G stations and 25 mobile broadcasting vehicles were also mobilized to serve the people during the Great Festival.
Viettel's 5G wave is flooded with "river festival"
Thus, with 1,700 5G stations, both large and small, newly installed to serve the New Year, Viettel 5G will cover all parade and parade locations as well as celebration events before the National Day. Small 5G stations are deployed along the routes to help improve internet capacity and speed at crowded places, sharing the load with the 4G network.

Imagine 4G network as a national highway, and 5G as a highway. When there are too many vehicles (users) on the road, the national highway will be congested. The system is designed to automatically prioritize connecting to the 5G "highway" when available. By proactively "pulling" users with the highest data needs to the 5G lane, Viettel has helped the 4G "National Highway" become much more airy. As a result, everyone, whether using 4G or 5G devices, has a better experience. These equipment are not only powerful but also aesthetic, easy to install without affecting the urban landscape.
Viettel is the only network operator that broadcasts both 5G SA and 5G NSA technologies simultaneously. In particular, 5G SA is a completely independent network, providing super low latency of about 1ms and superior performance compared to 5G NSA, speed 10 times 4G.
Use AI to share loads and optimize coverage
For the first time, AI is used by Viettel engineers to predict the future. Based on event schedule data, airfare, hotel rooms, articles, and likes on social networks, Viettel engineers have used AI models to predict the most crowded location, hot timing, and travel behavior. From there, network resources will be reasonable.

X- Optimization (XO) system combined with AI helps optimize network quality according to customer behavior. The system continuously observes the network and automatically makes refinements almost in real time. Every 5 minutes, the AI will automatically adjust the coverage area, directing the waves to the right place with users, reducing noise to neighboring areas. In addition, when the broadcasting stations show signs of overload, the system will immediately redirect users to the stations next to them that are still "free".
With a complex system of thousands of broadcasting points, manual adjustment with human resources is impossible. AI, through the XO platform, is a smart resource that ensures harmonious operating infrastructure, the best quality of services, bringing a smooth experience to people participating in the A80 event series.
With that capacity, Viettel is ready to help people spread historical moments when the parade blocks pass the stage, when the clusters of fireworks shine brightly in the sky of Hanoi.
