On October 5, 2024, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the Program to launch support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide with the theme "Warm home for my people".

The movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" was launched in April 2024 in Da Bac district - Hoa Binh province, practically aiming to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party, the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. The program has been enthusiastically responded to by compatriots at home and abroad, bringing practical results to the poor. On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the noble gestures and important contributions of compatriots and comrades nationwide, of localities to the poor and to this emulation movement with noble humanitarian meaning.
When this program was launched, it was estimated that there were about 170,000 temporary and dilapidated houses that needed to be repaired or rebuilt, and now there are about 153,000 houses left. The goal in 2025 is to complete all three contents: supporting housing for people with meritorious services; supporting housing for people under national target programs; repairing and rebuilding 153,000 houses in the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households.
