The Press and Propaganda Award on Energy-saving and Efficient Use is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association
Speaking at the 2025 award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said: 2025 is a year of special significance for the Vietnamese energy sector, when Law No. 77/2025/QH15 - Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Energy-saving and Efficient Use has just been passed by the National Assembly. The new law has added many regulations to promote the application of digital technology, renewable energy, circular economic models and green transformation in energy consumption, contributing to the realization of the country's sustainable development goals.

At the same time, Vietnam is entering the period of accelerating the implementation of the net emission commitment of "0" by 2050, in which energy saving and efficiency are considered a key solution, with low costs but bringing the highest efficiency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve competitiveness and ensure national energy security.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long, the press plays a particularly important role, being a bridge between policies and life, a source of inspiration and motivation for communication to help the community understand, agree and act with the Government for a greener, more sustainable future.
In 2025, the Award received strong attention and response from press agencies across the country, reflecting diverse and vivid topics on the economical and efficient use of energy in production, business, construction, transportation and daily life. The entries demonstrate the elaborate, creative and dedicated investment of journalists, contributing to spreading the message of energy saving through vivid, familiar and easy-to-understand language.
"In the coming time, the team of journalists will continue to promote their strengths, innovate content and forms of expression, so that the propaganda work on energy-saving and efficient use will become increasingly profound, attractive and spreading more widely in society," Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized.
Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said: This year's award attracted hundreds of works from many types of journalism: print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television and video clips... from journalists, collaborators, and informants across the country. This clearly demonstrates the concern, responsibility and enthusiasm of the press for the major policy of the Party and State on energy saving - a task that is both urgent and has long-term significance for socio-economic development and environmental protection.

The works that made it to the preliminary and final round all reflect the authenticity, creativity and in-depth achievements in energy-saving and efficient use. Many articles vividly depict typical models, good practices, practical initiatives, from community scale to businesses, industrial parks, green projects, green urban areas, etc. At the same time, many works also raise difficulties, challenges and orient solutions for energy-saving and efficient use in the coming time.
According to the Jury's assessment, the quality of this year's works is even, more diverse and in-depth, with many rich themes. In particular, the outstanding participation of local press agencies and young reporters has brought a new breeze to the award, with works expressed in a modern, attractive form and with high propaganda value.
At this year's award, Lao Dong Newspaper won 1 B prize with a series of 4 articles "Give up bottlenecks to 'accelerate' in the journey of saving and using energy effectively" by author Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan.
The organizing committee awarded 1 special prize, 4 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 10 C prizes, and 15 Encouragement prizes to 40 authors and groups of authors with the most outstanding works. The total prize value is 325 million VND.
