11 Banks Raise Interest Rates
According to Lao Động's records, as of August 9, the market has recorded 11 banks increasing interest rates, including Eximbank, ACB, Agribank, Sacombank, Saigonbank, VietBank, TPBank, CBBank, VIB, Dong A Bank, and VPBank.
Among them, ACB's interest rate increased by 0.1-0.3 percentage points, reaching around 3.0-5.0%/year.
Eximbank's interest rate increased by 0.4 percentage points at one term, reaching around 3.5-5.2%/year.
Sacombank's interest rate increased by 0.3-0.8 percentage points, reaching around 3.3-5.7%/year.
Saigonbank's interest rate increased by 0.3 percentage points, reaching around 3.3-6.1%/year.
TPBank's interest rate increased by 0.2-0.3 percentage points, reaching around 3.5-5.7%/year.
VietBank's interest rate increased by 0.2 percentage points at one term, reaching around 3.6-5.9%/year.
CBBank's interest rate increased by 0.4 percentage points, reaching around 3.8-5.85%/year.
Dong A Bank's interest rate increased by up to 0.8 percentage points, reaching around 3.3-5.3%/year.
VIB's interest rate increased by 0.1-0.2 percentage points, reaching around 3.2-5.2%/year.
VPBank's interest rate increased by 0.2-0.5 percentage points, reaching around 3.6-5.8%/year.
On the other hand, the market's interest rate in August also recorded a bank reducing interest rates, which is ABBank. ABBank has listed a decrease of 0.1-0.3 percentage points at most terms.
Where to Deposit to Receive Interest Rates Over 7%/year?
After the interest rate competition, MSB has issued a special interest rate of 7.0%/year for customers who open new savings accounts or savings accounts opened from January 1, 2018, automatically renewed with a 12-month, 13-month term, and a deposit amount of 500 billion VND.
Dong A Bank is currently listing a special interest rate of 7.5%/year for customers depositing terms of 13 months or more, with a final interest rate for an amount of 200 billion VND or more, for a 365-day/year frame.
HDBank also lists a special interest rate of 8.1%/year at a 13-month term. It applies to savings accounts with a minimum of 500 billion VND or more/ Savings Card, without applying to the form of interest at the beginning of the period, interest at regular intervals.
Next is the interest rate of 9.5%/year listed at PVcomBank. Customers of PVcomBank will enjoy a special interest rate of 9.5%/year when having a new deposit balance of 2,000 billion VND or more.
