Binh Dinh promotes record investment on the occasion of 50 years of liberation

Hoài Luân |

Binh Dinh - To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the province, Binh Dinh will organize a series of major events, notably the largest investment promotion conference ever.

Rapidly deploy major projects

In the first 3 months of the year, Binh Dinh recorded many positive signals in socio-economic development. GRDP is expected to increase by over 7%, budget revenue will reach about VND 4,700 billion (26.7% of the annual plan), up 61.4% over the same period. Export turnover reached nearly 500 million USD, up 18%. The number of tourists is estimated at 3.3 million.

Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that with the current progress, the province can exceed the budget revenue of 17,500 billion VND as planned, and can even reach 19,000 to 20,000 billion VND this year.

After the Central Government issued Conclusion 123-KL/TW on January 24, 2025, Binh Dinh has comprehensively adjusted the scenario for managing the 2025 socio-economic development plan in a detailed, specific and feasible direction, with the target of GRDP growth of 8.5-9%.

The province is focusing on rapidly implementing major projects. The Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway project is being finalized by the Ministry of Construction, striving to start construction in 2025, to be completed within 2-3 years.

The Phu Cat Airport runway 2 project is expected to start construction in August 2025 and be completed after 10 months. Along with that, Phu My Industrial Park and Port have completed provincial-level procedures, just waiting to remove obstacles in mineral planning to start construction.

"Binh Dinh has worked with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to speed up the progress. We will propose to the Prime Minister to resolve the issue, and when it is finished, we will start the implementation at that time," said Mr. Pham Anh Tuan.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Quy Nhon port currently does not meet the requirements of large investors due to limitations in load and connectivity. The development of Phu My Port - capable of receiving ships over 150,000 tons - will open a major turning point for Binh Dinh's shipping, creating a strong push in attracting investment.

The PNE Group's offshore wind power project (capacity of 750 MW, investment capital of VND 30,000 billion) will be implemented in phase 1 and expected to be completed in more than 2 years.

Social security work has been effectively implemented. The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has started construction of 3,700 units (reaching 85%), of which 1,158 units have been completed. The province is committed to completing this program before May 31. Along with that, 20 civil, medical and educational infrastructure projects in the 2026-2030 period will start construction this year.

A series of events to celebrate the anniversary of the province's liberation

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Dinh province (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025), the province will organize many key activities. Notably, the National Startup Program is associated with the implementation of Resolution 57/NQ-CP of the Government on the development of science, technology and innovation until 2030.

Next is the organization of the largest investment promotion conference ever, expected to award certificates and sign 68 projects with a total investment capital of VND 180,000 billion, of which 21 projects were awarded investment policies, with a total capital of VND 17,000 billion.

"Over 80% of investment memorandums signed between the province and enterprises in investment promotion programs have been implemented and enforced, without any signing left," said Mr. Pham Anh Tuan.

On the night of March 30, the epic art program "50 years of Binh Dinh" will take place, with the participation of many famous writers and artists. Next is a high-altitude artistic fireworks display lasting 15 minutes.

Regarding the tourist attraction program, the province is trying to negotiate an increase in flights from April 2025.
