Specifically, in the document responding to the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi, the Ministry of Finance stated the contents on perfecting legal regulations on virtual currency and digital currency in Vietnam.
Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Government leaders, the Ministry of Finance is assigned to preside over working and exchanging agreed with the Ministry of Justice, the State Bank of Vietnam and relevant agencies to specifically determine the legal documents that need to be amended, supplemented, and issued in conjunction with the presiding agency and specific implementation time to complete the legal framework for management and handling of virtual assets, virtual currencies, cryptocurrency, and cryptocurrency.
Currently, the Ministry of Finance is coordinating with ministries and branches to implement the above tasks. On the basis of discussing and agreeing with the Ministries and branches, the Ministry of Finance will submit a document to the Prime Minister on assigning specific tasks to the Ministries and branches to complete the legal framework for management and handling of virtual assets, virtual currencies, cryptocurrency, and cryptocurrency.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance has issued recommendations to investors on mass media, to be cautious when participating in investing in digital currencies, investing in securities on exchanges not organized and operated by the Vietnam Stock Exchange and its subsidiaries and requires public companies, securities companies, fund management companies and securities investment funds not to carry out issuance, trading and brokerage activities related to illegal virtual currency and comply with regulations on money laundering prevention.
