    CEOWORLD magazine has just published Index of Rich People of India 2018, ranking the richest individuals in the country. Considered the fastest growing economy in the world, India accounts for a large number of the world's billionaires with huge fortunes.

    1. Mukesh Ambani

    Topping the list is Mr. Mukesh Ambani - Chairman of Reliance Industries Group Ltd. Reliance is currently the second largest publicly traded company in India.

    Mr. Mukesh Ambani is currently the richest person in India.

    2. Azim premji

    Azim premji is the Chairman of Wipro Software Group and has become the third largest software service provider in India.

    In 1996, Mr. Azim premji returned home after graduating from Stanford University, USA and took over the family business of a cooking oil company after his father passed away.

    However, he later switched to doing business in other fields, including IT and software. With the right decisions, Azim premji is currently the second richest person in India.

    3. Lakshmi Mittal

    Billionaire Lakshmi Mittal is the Chairman of ArcelorMittal Group, the world's largest steel maker.

    Known as the "king" of Indian steel, billionaire Mittal is a person with a unique talent who seizes business opportunities from factories at risk of bankruptcy and takes over his own rivals.

    4. Shiv Nadar

    Billionaire Shiv Nadar is the co-founder of HCL Group. He was 15th in the list of richest billionaires in the high-tech sector in 2015.
