On December 2, a source from Lao Dong Newspaper said: "The provincial authorities are closely monitoring the operation of Song Ba Ha Hydropower Joint Stock Company after the flood discharge in the second half of November".
"As a State management agency in the energy sector, the Provincial People's Committee and related departments are closely monitoring the activities of enterprises to have a satisfactory coordination direction when incidents arise," the source added.
According to research, Song Ba Ha Hydropower Joint Stock Company is a large enterprise operating in the field of hydropower located in Dak Lak province. In recent years, the unit has made great contributions to the provincial budget.

Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant is one of five hydropower plants located in the downstream area of Ba River (in Dak Lak province). In which, Song Ba Ha Hydropower Plant is under the management of Song Ba Ha Hydropower Joint Stock Company.
The enterprise has a charter capital of more than VND 1,242 billion. Key shareholders include: Power Generation Corporation 2 - EVNGENCO 2 (this is a joint stock company owned by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) currently holding 61.78% of charter capital.
In particular, Song Ba Ha Hydropower Plant has a capacity of 220 MW, a guaranteed capacity of 33.3 MW, and will achieve a power generation output of nearly 500 million kWh in 2024.
In 2024, the company's pre-tax profit reached more than VND 306 billion, reaching 92% of the plan. It is expected that in 2025, the company's pre-tax profit will reach about VND384 billion, an increase of nearly VND80 billion compared to 2024.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 19, the Dak Lak Provincial Civil Defense Command informed that at 5:20 p.m. the same day, the Song Ba Ha Hydropower Plant had increased the water discharge to downstream to 15,490 m3/s - the highest level since the plant began operating in 2009.
In the historic flood in 2009 in Phu Yen province (old), this hydropower plant released floodwaters with a flow rate of 14,500m3/s.
