Dai-ichi Life Vietnam "Towards the Northern people"

Continuing the journey "Towards the Northern people" and spreading the spirit of mutual love to people severely affected by storm Yagi and floods, on September 24 and 25, 2024, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Vietnam Red Cross Society in 3 provinces: Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen and Phu Tho to visit and present 300 cash gifts worth 360 million VND, each gift worth 1.2 million VND to 300 households.

Previously, from September 15 to September 22, through the For a Better Life Fund, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam also awarded 700 support packages worth VND 840 million to 700 affected families in Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh. This meaningful journey will be continued in other provinces and cities as soon as possible.

The program “Connecting Millions of Loves – Towards the Northern People” was launched by Dai-ichi Life Vietnam and immediately sponsored 5 billion VND to quickly deploy relief activities to help affected people stabilize their lives and support in medical care and education promotion to help children go to school early in 22 heavily damaged provinces and cities including: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Binh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, Bac Kan, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, Ha Giang, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. At the same time, the Company called on the entire Board of Directors, employees and financial consultants to join hands to contribute to continue sharing with people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

In the challenging context of the economy and market, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam achieved positive business results in the first 6 months of 2024 with total insurance premium revenue reaching nearly VND 9,200 billion, market share reaching 13%, up 0.5 percentage points compared to the end of 2023, holding the position of Top 3 foreign life insurance companies in terms of total insurance premium revenue.

Newly acquired insurance premium revenue reached nearly VND 1,800 billion, leading foreign life insurance companies in annual new insurance premium revenue and ranking second in the market in after-tax profit with over VND 1,100 billion, contributing nearly VND 645 billion to the State budget, total accumulated undistributed after-tax profit reached over VND 10,700 billion, total assets reached nearly VND 71,000 billion, up 14% over the same period last year. In order to ensure the commitment to pay customer benefits in the future, according to State regulations, up to now, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has set aside a technical reserve of up to nearly VND 47,000 billion, up 17% over the same period last year.

Always committed to ensuring superior benefits for customers, in the first 6 months of 2024, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has paid insurance benefits of over VND 2,200 billion for more than 200,000 cases, of which nearly VND 700 billion was paid for health care insurance benefits, hospital and accident support, bringing the total amount of insurance benefits paid to over VND 21,700 billion for more than 1.9 million cases in nearly 17 years, contributing to ensuring social security for the Vietnamese people.

On August 2, 2024, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam was honored as the Top 3 in the "Top 10 Prestigious Life Insurance Companies in 2024" surveyed and announced by Vietnam Report and Vietnamnet; the "UNESCO Cultural Enterprise 2024" award for typical Social Responsibility Implementation, awarded by the World Federation of UNESCO Associations and the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations on August 5, 2024 for its achievements and consistent and comprehensive contributions to improving the quality of life for the local community; "Enterprise for the Community - Saigon Times CSR" for 5 consecutive years (2019 - 2023), awarded by Saigon Economic Magazine; Certificate from the European Union Delegation to Vietnam on November 24, 2023 for its contributions to environmental protection and promoting sustainable green growth.
