World oil prices today
World oil prices fell across the board on November 15 (Vietnam time). At 11:22 a.m., WTI crude oil was at $68.28 per barrel, down 0.42 USD/barrel, or 0.61%. WTI crude oil closed the previous session at 68.70 USD/barreland opened today's session at 68.56 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at 72.11 USD/barrel, down 0.45 USD/barrel, or 0.62 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at 72.56 USD/barrel and opened today at 72.43 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices continued to remain low. In yesterday's trading session (November 14), world oil prices fluctuated strongly when WTI oil reversed from the beginning of the session, while Brent oil continued to maintain its upward momentum, then simultaneously reversed to decrease. By the end of the session, both oil products rebounded with the closing price slightly increasing.
A sharp drop in US fuel inventories overshadowed concerns about oversupply amid slowing demand growth as the dollar continued to strengthen, Reuters reported. US oil inventories rose by 2.1 million barrels, 2.8 times the previous expectation of a 750,000-barrel increase.
Further weighing on oil prices during the session was the surge in the US dollar to a one-year high, and the Trump administration’s control of Congress could potentially reverse much of the energy policies of the Biden administration.
