According to the Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Anh Quan, this is a very meaningful event for the city, aiming to show gratitude for the contributions of businesses to the city's development, while contributing to further strengthening the close relationship between city leaders, local state management agencies and the domestic business community and foreign-invested enterprises in an atmosphere of friendship, cooperation and a sense of responsibility to start the new year 2025.
Last year, despite the complicated fluctuations in the world situation and the difficulties in the domestic economy, the city's socio-economic situation continued to be stable and developed. The city's business community has strived to overcome difficulties and continuously grow. Currently, the city has more than 23,000 businesses in operation. Some businesses are in the Top 500 largest businesses in Vietnam such as: Hai Phong Port, Tien Phong Plastic, Vinfast, Viet Phat, Dinh Vu Port, LG companies, Hoang Huy Group, etc.
Enterprises have made a large contribution to the city's domestic revenue, reaching 49,668 billion VND, accounting for 99.2% of domestic revenue. Of which, the non-state enterprise sector contributed 8,107 billion VND, accounting for 16.1% of total revenue. The FDI enterprise sector contributed 5,861 billion VND, accounting for 11.65% of total revenue. The central and local state-owned enterprises in the area contributed 2,628 billion VND, accounting for 5.25% of total revenue. There were 9 enterprises paying taxes from 500 billion VND to more than 5,000 billion VND; 34 enterprises paying from 100 to nearly 500 billion VND; 26 enterprises paying from 50 to nearly 100 billion VND and 255 enterprises paying from 10 billion to nearly 50 billion VND.
In addition to making large contributions to the city budget, businesses have also actively invested in expanding production and business, especially projects with high technology content; participated in community activities and supported social security, such as building charity houses, supporting families with meritorious services and poor households, supporting the city to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi); supported funding for fireworks displays on the occasion of the Red Flamboyant Festival and Lunar New Year such as Vingroup, Sao Do Group, Hoang Huy Group, etc.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of departments, branches, sectors and localities for creating favorable conditions, promptly listening, removing difficulties and resolving legitimate proposals and recommendations of enterprises; proposing to commend and honor typical entrepreneurs, enterprises and individuals who are good at production and business, and well implementing the policies of the Party and State.
On this occasion, 77 enterprises and 2 typical international organizations with outstanding achievements and positive contributions to the city's socio-economic development in 2024 received certificates of merit from the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee.
