Instead of buying "foreign goods" like every year, people are tending to prefer domestic products. This time is also when domestic businesses and many distribution systems launch many attractive promotions, attracting consumer interest.

At major supermarkets in Hanoi, the Vietnamese goods display area is prominently arranged, stretching from cakes, jams, dried goods, processed foods to Tet gifts. Not only diverse in types and designs, domestic goods this year are also invested in packaging and form, close to imported products, while prices are still at an accessible level.
Ms. Minh Thu (Lang Thuong ward, Hanoi), who mainly shops in areas with domestic products, said that her family only buys fully according to rituals and customs, and has not bought too much for many years.
I still favor domestic products. Domestic goods have brands and high-end product lines that are also very delicious. Products are quite diverse, reasonable prices. There are high-end items with quite high prices but many types, so they are easy to buy" - Ms. Thu shared.
Sharing the same view, Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (Thinh Quang ward, Hanoi) feels "dizzy" with Tet products this year.
Since entering the supermarket, most of the goods I see are domestic goods, displayed everywhere. People's psychology also tends to choose domestic goods more. I pre-ordered gift packages to put at the cashier counter to send to my husband's and wife's families" - Ms. Loan said.

Divided into many Tet shopping trips, Ms. Vu Thi Phuong (64 years old, Dong Da ward) said that this year's goods supply is more abundant, helping people to be more proactive in shopping.
I often divide Tet shopping into many installments. After buying at one supermarket, I go to another supermarket to compare and choose. Currently, I mainly buy dry goods, and only after the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month do I buy more fruits and fresh food. Buying gradually like that saves money at once and avoids overload" - Ms. Phuong said.
According to Ms. Phuong, the current supermarket system meets many different consumer segments.
No matter how much money you have, you can buy Tet goods. Goods are diverse, prices are reasonable, and food is also fresher than buying in the inner city area. In particular, this year, domestic goods have a clear advantage over foreign goods" - Ms. Phuong commented.
Not only consumers are changing their shopping habits, businesses are also proactively "pivoting" the market, focusing on exploiting domestic purchasing power. A representative of a retail system said that from the beginning of December, many Vietnamese businesses have promoted production, launching Tet product sets with special designs, accompanied by deep discount programs, the more you buy, the greater the incentives.
Besides the price factor, the fact that domestic goods are increasingly improving in quality, design and traceability also contributes to creating consumer confidence. In the context of many economic difficulties, the trend of "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" continues to be strengthened during the peak shopping season at the end of the year.

According to records, to avoid the scene of "full of people" on weekends, many people choose to go shopping on weekdays. This helps to choose goods and pay more quickly and conveniently, and also contributes to reducing pressure on retail outlets in the days leading up to Tet.
