The Investment Promotion Conference "Vietnam of mine - Destination for your investment" has attracted over 250 delegates from leading businesses in Singapore and Vietnam. They are financial institutions, banks, investment funds, stock exchanges, and businesses from both countries participating in the conference.
In his opening speech, Minister of Finance Hồ Đức Phớc stated that Vietnam - Singapore still has a lot of room for development, especially in the field of financial markets, capital markets, and stock markets. The Ministry of Finance cooperates with partners to organize this conference with the hope of providing more investment opportunities and creating a real dialogue channel to help businesses and investors understand more about the orientation, potential, and economic situation of Vietnam in general and the financial markets in particular.
Minister of Finance shared that under the attention and direction of the Government, the Vietnamese stock market has developed increasingly effectively, sustainably, and efficiently, becoming an important channel for medium- and long-term capital for the economy.
Minister emphasized: "Although we have had initial successes, Vietnam is determined to continue developing a transparent, safe, efficient, comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable stock market, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of all participating entities. At present, we are also making every effort to meet the criteria for upgrading the stock market and hope to be upgraded to an emerging market in the near future."
Especially, regarding the development of green capital markets, Minister Hồ Đức Phớc also informed that this is one of the targets included in the Strategy for Developing the Stock Market to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister. This is also one of the important solutions to mobilize capital for green and sustainable growth.
Minister confirmed that the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam commits to accompanying and creating favorable conditions for partners, businesses, and investors to seek investment opportunities and cooperation to achieve the highest efficiency. The Ministry of Finance welcomes businesses and investors from Singapore, in particular, and the region in general, to increase new investments and expand investment scale in Vietnam, to further promote the effectiveness of cooperation and investment to achieve common success and prosperity.
At the conference, the Securities Commission also provided information to Singaporean investors about the overall situation of the Vietnamese stock market, prospects, and targets, as well as policies for developing the market in the coming time.
Minister of Finance Hồ Đức Phớc also chaired the Policy Dialogue Session with the participation of Chairman of the Securities Commission Vũ Thị Chân Phương and representatives of some units under the Ministry of Finance about the potential and investment opportunities in Vietnam. Many Singaporean investors showed interest in Vietnam's macro prospects and investment opportunities, especially solutions to attract investment in capital markets, green finance, and the task of upgrading the Vietnamese stock market from the frontier market to the emerging market.
