In the last days of 2025, present in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that this place is a large construction site with thousands of workers, machines, trucks carrying materials to level the ground, constructing VinFast Electric Motorcycle Factory; the central main road connecting National Highway 1A, the section avoiding Ky Anh town to the Vung Ang - Son Duong deep-water port cluster; Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant Project; Vinhomes Vung Ang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment, Construction and Business Project...
Of which, the Vinhomes Vung Ang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment, Construction and Business Project has a total investment of more than VND 13,276 billion, invested by Vinhomes Ha Tinh Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company (under Vingroup Corporation), with a land use scale of nearly 965 hectares. The project started construction in August 2025.
Vinhomes Industrial Park is oriented to develop industrial types such as: automobile manufacturing and assembly; supporting industry for automobile manufacturing and assembly; manufacturing and assembling automobile components and spare parts; logistics warehouses; other suitable industrial and high-tech types; production services.
The project, when put into operation, will become a new growth driver for the industry, attracting investment and promoting the socio-economic development of Ha Tinh. The presence of the project not only promotes local economic development in the direction of industrialization - modernization, but also contributes to creating jobs and increasing income for workers in the area.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung (43 years old, residing in Vung Ang ward) shared: "Previously, my house was in the old Ky Thinh commune. At that time, life was very difficult, houses were dilapidated, people were stuck to the fields all year round, just enough to survive. However, now, that old hamlet has sprung up as VinFast Electric Car Factory, VinFast Electric Motorcycle Factory and Vinhomes Vung Ang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment, Construction and Business Project. In addition, the formosa Hung Nghiep Steel Gang Factory has been in operation for many years. Thanks to industry, thousands of workers here have jobs, high income, and improved their lives".
According to Mr. Hung, before, young people in his hometown had mostly gone to the South to work as workers, had to live away from home and rent a room, so at the end of the year, they could not get much. However, in recent years, many factories and enterprises have sprung up right in their homeland, so most young people do not have to go far but can work near home.
I have been a high school teacher for more than 15 years and my current salary is not equal to that of a new employee who has worked for a few years at VinFast Electric Car Factory in Vung Ang. Saying that is not to regret my job but to celebrate many workers having good job opportunities right in their hometown Mr. Hung shared.
Effectiveness of investment attraction, job creation
Mr. Hoang Trong Hoang (23 years old, residing in Thach Lac commune, Ha Tinh province) said that in 2023, he graduated from the practical engineering majoring in Electromechanical Engineering, Ha Tinh College of Technology. After graduating, he was recruited to work at the VinFast Electric Car Factory in Hai Phong with a salary of nearly 10 million VND/month.
4 months ago, when the VinFast electric car factory in Vung Ang Economic Zone came into operation, Mr. Hoang was transferred from Hai Phong to Ha Tinh to work.
"Currently, my salary is 20 million VND per month. Having just graduated for a few years and achieved such an income, I feel satisfied. Especially, I am very happy to work in my hometown, Mr. Hoang shared.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Human Resources Director of the VinFast Ha Tinh Electric Car Factory Complex - said that VinFast Ha Tinh currently has more than 5,000 officers and employees working.
To boost production, the company is in need of recruiting more than 2,300 positions. Of which, 1,500 male workers were recruited, 200 team leaders/head of production groups, 500 technicians (maintenance and repair), 100 engineers (mechanical, electrical, automotive), 10 planners and 5 human resources specialists.
Recruited workers have an income of 10 - 18 million VND/person/month (depending on position and ability). In addition, the company has many other welfare regimes.
Mr. Nam added that VinFast electric motorbike factory is currently under rapid construction, expected to come into operation in February 2026 and will need to recruit about 5,000 workers.
According to the Ha Tinh Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, by the end of 2025, Vung Ang Economic Zone has 155 projects, of which 99 are domestic investment projects with a registered capital of VND 106,277.172 billion and 56 foreign investment projects with a total registered capital of more than 16 billion USD.
In 2025 alone, the competent authority issued investment policy decisions and investment registration certificates to 12 projects, including 8 domestic investment projects with a total registered investment of VND 36,059 billion and 4 foreign investment projects with a total of USD 25 million.
Currently, the total number of workers working in Vung Ang Economic Zone is about more than 21,500 people, including more than 20,300 Vietnamese workers and more than 1,200 foreign workers.
