More transparent
Ms. Tran Thanh Mai - the owner of a small restaurant on Phan Dinh Phung Street (Cau Kieu Ward) was initially very hesitant when receiving notification of the implementation of electronic invoices from cash registers.
However, since using a cash register system, automatically printed invoices have been both professional and help Ms. Mai monitor daily revenue more clearly. Before, I wrote by hand and then added the book, it was easy to make mistakes. Now it is more convenient, customers are more assured when seeing clear invoices".
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - a trader at Binh Tay market, said: "At first, I thought it would be a waste of money and cumbersome. But in reality, when I use them, I can control the goods and try, then I will understand and operate them".
Recorded in Ho Chi Minh City, at restaurants and grocery stores in Ho Chi Minh City, printing electronic invoices is becoming more and more popular. The restaurants that previously temporarily stopped accepting transfers have now resumed normal transactions.
Despite many positive results, according to experts, expanding the application of electronic invoices to all business households still requires appropriate support policies, especially for small businesses with little access to technology.
There needs to be support packages for equipment and software costs in the early stages, combined with direct consultation and guidance programs. Promoting communication about long-term benefits is also an important factor for business people to change their thinking and be ready to transform.
More than 13,000 business households have used electronic invoices
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, as of June 30, a total of 31,462 business establishments, including 18,334 enterprises and 13,128 business households, have issued electronic invoices from cash registers. The total number of issued electronic invoices is 616 million invoices.
The implementation is carried out in each ward and commune. The tax sector has coordinated with software providers and tax agents to organize many training sessions and instruct on the use of electronic invoices for the right subjects. In addition, communication is also promoted to make it easier for business households to access and use properly.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department said: We identify this as a key task, to promote digital transformation and increase transparency in business operations. The electronic invoice model generated from cash registers not only helps with better management but also facilitates business people themselves".
Along with expanding the application of electronic invoices, the Ho Chi Minh City tax sector also implemented many measures to prevent loss of revenue. In the first 6 months of the year, 44,085 more business households were included in tax management. At the same time, the tax authority reviewed cash flow, input and output invoices and inspected households with signs of abnormality.
As a result, the tax sector has collected and fined a total of 199 billion VND. In particular, the number of new taxes and increased budget revenue in 2025 has reached more than 233 billion VND.
